"Ambassador"
Are we trying to say that he was the legal attache to the U.S. embassy? If so, I think it should just that, because a legal attache is not at all the same thing as an ambassador. Yesterday, on the Rush Limbaugh radio show, Rush Limbaugh talked about his grandfather, Rush Hudson Limbaugh, Sr, and the new book: "The Original Rush Limbaugh: Lawyer, Legislator, and Civil Libertarian"
