what are we hiding

This has to be the most whitewashed article on Wikipedia. Where are the references to slavery? There's an entire section on the American immigrants from the 19th century, but not a mention about them going to Santa Bárbara d'Oeste because they could still practice slavery there. There's a mention about cotton farming, but no mention that slaves were used in these faming methods. Brazil was the last country in the Americas to ban slavery.

In 2022 the descendants of these slavers are still fighting for the right to have an annual festival celebrating slavery and its legacy.
