Re-written page at Talk:Sergio Rendine/Temp and repeated copyright violation

I have re-written this article as a stub at Talk:Sergio Rendine/Temp. I have removed from that page the copyright material which Passioet had added all over again. I have also blanked Sergio Rendine/Temp because (a) it also repeated the copyright material and (b) is not the appropriate page for the re-written draft. Note that I checked it:Sergio Rendine and this is also a copyright violation, please do not post its contents (even in translation) to the English Wikipedia

To

Wikipedia:Autobiography
before making any further edits to this article.

To other editors: This is a very notable composer with a wealth of material available in independent reliable sources for expanding the article.

  • То Voceditenore (talk) 13:20, 18 October 2010 (UTC) Thank you for the informations. I declare that I have no conflict of interest, but I'm just a big fan of Sergio Rendine. I personally asked his permission to publish his biography, which is supposed to be a modest contribution for those who want to have informations on the composer. I think you have just verifed there is a page on Italian Wikipedia Page about him and I just wanted to set the same criterion in English language. I also apologize for the "poor" practice systems of Wikipedia, but my first experience! And I wanna also thank you for the contribute for this page.(Passioet (talk) 14:55, 18 October 2010 (UTC))[reply]
  • Don't worry, lots of new editors make the same mistake. The problem is that you don't really own the text, Sergio Rendine owns it, and its style is not really suitable for an encyclopedia. Also, being a big fan is a kind of conflict of interest, because it can be very difficult (but not impossible) to be objective about the subject. But you're right, he is a very notable composer, and the English Wikipedia should have an article about him. Thank you for getting the ball rolling. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 15:28, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks for writing me back. So, if you agree can we simplify everything and continue to work at this new wikipedia page and delete the bad one that I've created? (Passioet (talk) 15:51, 18 October 2010 (UTC))[reply]
  • In a few days, an adminstrator will delete the old page and replace it with the article at Talk:Sergio Rendine/Temp. You can continue to work on the new version there, but please don't paste in anything from other web sites, even your own. Voceditenore (talk) 17:11, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

So the simplified version of the page is now the current one. Since there is permission to use the material from the website it can be readded to expand the article. As Voceditnore said above, promotional language and unencyclopedic style would still be a problem, but you don't have to worry about the copyright issues anymore.
