I went to high school at The Prep. I loved The Prep. I have no negative feelings toward The Prep. Also, I see nothing factually wrong with the article in its present state. Seton Hall is not that prep ... it is Seton Hall or The Hall

Seton Hall Prep is VERY often referred(usually by people from West Orange, Livingston, Verona area) to as The Prep. The Hall and Seton Hall are terms from the students that come from farther towns. Wild One is right. SHP is referred to as The Prep. In two years of being recruited, four years as a student, and six years as an alumni, with all the newsletters, newspapers, paperwork, forms, documents, meetings, rallies, homecomings, reunions, masses, plays, and conversations that I've gotten, read, been to, held, been part of, etc., I have never once (except here) seen or heard SHP referred to as "The Hall", though I have seen and heard it referred to as "The Prep" innumerable times, including by the students, faculty, staff, and even the headmaster himself. Any official documentation from Seton Hall Prep that I've seen in eleven years of dealing with SHP, when it refers to itself informally, does so always as "The Prep", never as "The Hall". Not only do I see your changes as factually incorrect, anonymous (68.187.225.51), I also don't think they were worth making EVEN IF they did have some merit. This is a non-issue. On top of that, you've made the same changes to the page twice, despite being reverted the first time, didn't explain your changes the first time, BARELY explained your changes the second time (if you want to call your cryptic comment an explanation), deleted MY comments without reason, and didn't sign your own. I consider your changes vandalism, and have reverted the article to the last "good" version as such. All that aside, though, my question still stands: doesn't this read more like it was copied out of a brochure than it should? Isn't there some sort of bias being represented here? There is something about the article that I can't put my finger on, I know what you mean, but I'm not feeling the brochure thing...what do you mean, could you give an example of what parts? It also seems to me as if a lot more could be said about the school, I just wouldn't know where to start, not to mention I'm lazy. We could go into detail about the school's sports program, particularly the basketball, football, baseball, and hockey teams (I recall those being the big ones back when I was a student). Perhaps the schools' drama and theater program (teachers Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Neglia have been running those for over a decade, and they are locally notable for their high quality relative to their production levels and budgets). We could also mention the debate team, or the recent renovations, the sports complex (did they ever finish that?). I remember from when I was a student that there was a display up showcasing a number of published authors who had graduated from the Prep. Perhaps, in that spirit, a section featuring notable graduates?

Also, the diversity section needs work. Aside from a few grammatical and structural errors, it's also a bit awkward, no? Trigear 05:13, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
