The name can be updated when the tribunal is formally established. Boud (talk) 20:22, 19 January 2023 (UTC) But first we need a temporary pre-creation name, because the current name is confusing: ordinary people (and many journalists) can't easily see the difference between this tribunal and the International Criminal Court based on the current article name (International Criminal Tribunal for the Russian Federation).[reply]

• Euro Commission says a specialised court, backed by the United Nations, to investigate and prosecute Russia's crime of aggression

Given that it's unclear if the tribunal would be limited to the 2022 invasion or also consider the 2014 invasion, it's better not to put "2022" in the name. The EuroParl's proposal to include Belarusian political/military leaders creates a problem for having Russia, as a state, in the title, though the invasions themselves are primarily Russian; the de facto government of Belarus allowed its territory to be used. Proposals:

1. Special international tribunal for the crime of aggression
2. Special international tribunal for the crime of aggression (Russian invasion of Ukraine)
3. Special international tribunal (Russian invasion of Ukraine)

Now that the centre is operational, I propose the article is renamed "International Centre for the Prosecution of the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine" and reworded accordingly. AndrewRT(Talk) 14:17, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Crimes against humanity is a specific legal concept. In order to be included in the category, the event (s) must have been prosecuted as a crime against humanity, or at a bare minimum be described as such by most reliable sources. Most of the articles that were formerly in this category did not mention crimes against humanity at all, and the inclusion of the category was purely original research.
