Speedy deletion discussion

This page should not be deleted because --Orange Mike | Talk told me 9 April 2010 that in order for pages not to be deleted you have to make a case that whatever you are posting is notable enough to have its own article in an encyclopedia.

The United States General Services Administration presents companies with the Evergreen Award which seem pretty notable to me.

This page is not to promote Spectrum Industries, but rather display their positive environmental impacts in a time when everyone is going green; with representation from the United States General Services Administration. The 'Green' facts listed are just that facts and statistics not promotional sentences.

There are no product or promotional lists or other non-encylopedic content such as YouTube links.

Thus, I beleive the page should not be deleted, there are several other wikipedia pages that display the same type of content, such as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knoll_(company) except they go a step further by presenting/promoting their products.

Nonetheless, the page should at least be able to remain with it's history seeing as several wikipedia pages do such http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steelcase

Thank you and I look forward to your response Linsmith (talk) 16:54, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Intentionally "display[ing] their positive environmental impacts in a time when everyone is going green; with representation from the United States General Services Administration" is the same as promoting Spectrum Industries. -- Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 17:00, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

But they are facts regarding Spectrum's impact on the environment that have been recognized by the United States General Services Administration, not promotional phrases. However, if you beleive that it is promotional I can remove all information regarding the United States General Services Administration and the Evergreen Award and the page can stand as is with just history information. Indeed you should. An inordinate amount of the article is devoted to environmental friendliness, so much in fact that it would be inappropriate even on the company's own literature, which would give me the impression that I'm reading a tract for the Sierra Club with nothing whatsoever about furniture. A simple mention that the company won an award is usually sufficient for an encyclopedia article.
Then there's the matter of whether this company meets our
inclusion guidelines for companies. -- Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 17:37, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply

As you are still working on the article, I have removed the speedy deletion tag. However I will review the article in a few days, and may decide to take it to
