Press release

The press release is not an objective source, and the language frankly offers no specific or useful information about either the game's plot or it's development -- save for one snippet, which I'll add in a bit. There is no

Plot

I have a feeling that we won't know much about the story until the game is in our consoles. But Starkiller died in the first one. (And I honestly think they intended for the game to stop there.) But this is a sequel-takes place after. But should a bit, mentioning his death in the first installment be included? --P dump (talk) 22:05, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I would assume, then, that you play as Sith Starkiller (evil ending, where Sidious crushes him and then rebuilds him as a Darth Vader-ish cyborg). Just speculation on my part but that's the only thing that makes sense, unless he's resurrected or didn't die. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.26.194.190 (talk) 17:59, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Or he was brought back to life like he was between missions 3 and 4(6 & 7 for ps2, psp, and wii versions). 75.169.118.185 (talk) 22:43, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I really don't see how they can make another one that is in context with the Star Wars storyline... without pulling a lame- "oh! he came back to life again" which is getting kind of old, don't you agree? I mean, he died like 3 times during the first game... so... i don't see how they can bring him back. It will be a very interesting sequel, that's for sure. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.111.70.242 (talk) 01:54, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
He probably wasn't dead to begin with, or maybe he's a clone. We'll see when the game comes out. 75.157.115.154 (talk) 22:44, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

5 Bucks says he pulls a Revan/Exile move and kick him out to the unknown regions as it would be lame if he died again by the end of the game. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.177.69.251 (talk) 13:40, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

its very possible for him to have survived, as in one star wars comic or story(forget which) darth maul, the sith sliced in half and drop at least serval dozens storys into a reractor in episode 1, brought back to life and attacked obiwan kenobi somtime in between episode 3 and 4. star killer seemed to be less wounded, and seeing as he survived(ok, was brought back to life after) being thrust into the vacum of space, being sliced up with a light saber dosnt seem half as bad. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.115.204.217 (talk) 23:41, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I also support the theory that he was ressurected. The plot relases say he came back at Kamino, the main clone factory for the Republic, and most likely taken over for repurposing by the Empire. If Darth Vader kept some of Starkiller's DNA, he could have been working on a "backup" copy the entire time. It makes sense, as Palpatine had control over the factory the entire time (Order 66 was either programmed or secretly taught to the clone army, being the ultra-loyal Praetorian they were), and Darth Vader could easily have "slipped" the factory a "special order" to produce after he adopted Starkiller from Kashyyyk. Starkiller's Wardrobe

I would like to point out the similarities between Starkiller's fatigues after he removes his cloak to that of Kyle Katarn's. Both have a pad over one shoulder, same color tweed shirt, and while Starkiller is garnered with more belts and the likes, the motif is very reminiscent to that of Katarn. Is it simply a nod or just a coincidence? Or, am I the only one seeing this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.178.94.72 (talk) 17:37, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You can dress as Boba fett, stormtroopers, and if you have star wars the force unleashed data on your XBOX/PS3, then you can get the stalker costume. When you go to the Dagobah caves (after you meet yoda), you get the dreaming robes.

All, of course, only on the PS3 and X-Box 360. The Wii version doesn't have any of those costumes other than the Dreaming Robes. 173.180.89.129 (talk) 23:25, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is it known if the game will use Ronin (Havok, DMM and Euphoria) or another engine? RoboHomo (talk) 22:28, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Blackman was the one who pushed for using the three engines in the first game, and if the game continues under his development, I don't think he'll discard the old formula. --95.231.99.157 (talk) 22:18, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

also Havok, DMM and Euphoria have zero to do with the actual rendering of the engine they are only physic libraries, they still have a custom 3D rendering engine and custom toolset (as Havok, DMM, Euphoria are only libraries which almost do nothing besides motion and physics without any graphical rendering) Markthemac (talk) 16:08, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Per

WP:RS vendors like Amazon.com and wikis like Wookiepedia are not considered reliable enough to be used as sources for this. While it's likely that there will at least be a Windows/Mac port, nothing has been officially announced, and so we can't add something that isn't seen anywhere but on those types of sites. It's nothing personal, it's just the way Wikipedia verifies that the information is factual. --Teancum (talk) 15:41, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply

Repetition

Someone seriously needs to do something about the repetition of the phrase "...the game will also have/include/allow..." in the second paragraph of the "Development" section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.35.29.167 (talk) 15:40, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I can't speak for anyone else, but since we know so little about the game (and thus have very little content) I haven't felt like copy editing. Any changes made now will just be rewritten completely when it comes closer to release.

Trailers as a source for the story

Can the game trailers really be seen as a reliable source for the story? I think some of the trailers contradict each other at certain points (for instance I think I recall one trailer where Starkiller breaks out of his training room like in the demo, and the other trailer instead has him escape by killing Stormtroopers and cutting his way out of his cell). Even if the demo is incomplete I feel it may be more reliable as a source.

talk) 16:11, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply

Neither the trailers nor even the demo == the actual game. Inferences about the game's story from the trailer is
original research, hence the reliance in this and other game articles on secondary sources and, for superficial narrative events, the game itself. --EEMIV (talk) 11:18, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply

Great general info for expansion.

A YouTube user known as Blunty3000 does several interviews with characters, gets hands on demos of gameplay, etc [2]. Normally YouTube isn't acceptable, but given recent consensus if the footage is visibly verifiable (for example, Blunty interviews Sam Witwer - other times he is seen at Skywalker Ranch) it can be used as a reliable source. There's some great info on the Wii version, and several interviews. --Teancum (talk) 09:01, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dismemberment is Console Exclusive

Looking at footage, the only versions of The Force Unleased II you can "dismember or decapitate enemies" are the PS3 and X-Box 360. The Wii version just has you slicing them. 207.216.194.166 (talk) 01:54, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What you see from samplers of video is insufficient to make a generalization. Please find and cite a third-party source that makes that claim. --EEMIV (talk) 12:43, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's going to be difficult-to-impossible to do, because I was looking at a "Gameplay Footage" video of TFU2 gameplay on the Wii consle on Youtube and happened to notice the enemies didn't fall apart as the developers claimed they would. I checked a X-Box 360 video for reference, and it actually appears they removed the dismemberment feature entirely from all versions of the game. 173.180.89.129 (talk) 07:11, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Edit to above. My mistake: they haven't removed it: it's just less obvious than the E3 footage made it seem. 173.180.89.129 (talk) 07:32, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

    Pass/Fail:

Wii version's Extra story level.... Why is this not mentioned in the article, and how should it be mentioned correctly.

The Level I'm talking about is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBfos_a6WzY

It's a pretty important level concerning the plot, and in the HD version of the game they just totally skipped it. I seriously felt this level is pretty much the reason the Wii game get's rated higher than the HD version as it made the ending make sense to me(The clone isn't a clone, He's REALLY Starkiller, who somehow managed to survive the ending of the original game!) Why wasn't this in the HD version? Why did the HD version build up a level, and then totally stuffed it by just having it be a short cutscene?

Colliric (talk) 14:27, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Because it conflicts with the HD versions, and those are developed by LucasArts themselves. Since it's conflicting it's not mentioned, but Wikipedia is also
not a game guide, so we keep things succinct. That's kinda cool, though. --Teancum (talk) 16:05, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply
]

I guess i'm lucky I played the Wii version of the Sequel instead of the HD one.... This level was really what was missing from the HD version... especially with it's revelation you essentially came back "Jason Bourne No-Memory Style" from the dead and the "Clone program" was a front for Vader's own secret plan to overthrow the emperor(which actually ment the game made sense!). He cloned you and used elements of the clones to rebuild you, if you failed he still had a formidable clone program to help the empire(as shown in the darkside ending). The HD version specifically omitted this level, which ment HD players didn't get the big hint you're playing the same character: "Vader said you were dead... and that you came back...." This was actually the best level in the game, it had a spooky haunted feeling to it, as you would expect from a level set in the caves of Dagobah. I'm thinking it was omitted from the HD version partly because they struggled to replicate that spooky feeling with HD effects. Colliric (talk) 16:32, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
