Citation Needed

I'm not sure how to do edits on citations. There is a "citation needed" where it mentions that Sterling was a whites-only community. Here is its source:

I think the text of the edit makes it clear that the USPS identifies a much larger area as “Sterling”, which flows into common usage because of that. “Greater Sterling” isn’t a common term, just convenient for distinguishing between what the public thinks of as “Sterling” (which is based on mailing addresses) versus what the Census Bureau considers to be “Sterling”. Seems that replacing "Greater Sterling" with "Sterling postal" maintains the distinction between CDP and Postal regions while avoiding the suggestion that "Greater Sterling" is a postal area. Jcurious (talk) 22:26, 23 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That's only part of the edit. The text states that Herndon is the preferred address per authority of USPS:

A much wider region has a preferred mailing address of Sterling, Virginia per the United States Post Office.

There's not much that's reusable in the edit.

What it's telling you is that for unincorporated areas where there's no post office, they recommend routing through the post office which serves that area, but that when it has a generally recognized name, they'll deliver it anyway using the recognized name(s). Koppen Climate "winter" weather classification is incorrect for Northern Virginia (Incorrect for many other regions too)

The Koppen Climate classification describes Northern Virginia winters as "mild to cool". This is incorrect. A large percentage of winter days are quite cold, a large percentage are "cool" and only a small percentage are mild. The KCC is correct for summer weather in this area.

There have been many complaints made about the Koppen Climate classification being incorrect for many regions-- see it's Wikipedia article Talk Page. This article should use

NOAA
weather data instead. It is much more accurate for Northern Virginia. The area does have hot sub-tropical summers, but in the winter Mid-Atlantic, not southern, weather patterns take over. Cool to cold is the rule.

I suggest that the article use

NOAA
data and drop the incorrect Koppen Climate classification. NOTE: The KCC has complaints about it in many regions as being innacurate. It is a very old system and depending on the KCC described region, can be innacuate for at least some seasons.
