The movie The Land Before Time keeps getting added, then removed, then added again, ad nauseum. The WP article for this film had Sterling Holloway listed in the role of Petrie, but IMDB shows Will Ryan in that role. I've adjusted both this page and the film's page to reflect the correct actor in that role. I'm open to the possibility that IMDB is wrong, but it's usually very reliable on issues like cast lists. So please, if you're going to add TLBT back to this article, please give a citation to somewhere, anywhere, that has Sterling Holloway in any role in the film. qitaana (talk) 23:03, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He did that one as well.

All the episodes of Dink, the Little Dinosaur has no narrated by Sterling Holloway. somebody put Sterling Holloway. I don't think Sterling Holloway narrated in this show. [Regarding the S. H. Reading Peter and the Wolf Picture] I am sure this picture has a place in this article, but IMO, it doesn't belong at the top. I don't know why, but I personally don't like it (at least at the top) and don't think it adequately defines who he is. For some reason, in this picture, he looks so much like a ventriloquist's dummy (no insult intended) that he immediately makes me wonder what it is he does and if he ever was a ventriloquist (which I don't think he ever was). I understand that it may be difficult to obtain a replacement, but I wanted to bring this out in the open so at least some discussion could be made and see if I'm the only one bothered by the unusual nature of this picture. Maybe it's the small size that makes it look kind of funny. No insult is intended toward his appearance in the picture; he's simply getting the audience interested in the book he is reading. There's a mention of an adopted son Richard. Not to be confused with Richard Holloway a bishop in England. I seem to recall that there was a Frederick(sp.?) Holloway whom I thought also did the voice of Winnie The Pooh, but I can't find a reference. I wrote to Disney.com and they only help members. Maybe there's an archive dept. Regarding his mother, the 1910 US Census has the Holloway household consisting of Sterling, Sr, Rebecca Holloway, Sterling, Jr, Boothby, and a 70 year old Rebecca Boothby. The Elder Rebecca's birthplace is "Pennsylvania", with father being England and mother also Pennsylvania. Rebecca Boothby's death record from Georgia has her listed as passing on June 30, 1925, and her birthplace as Philadelphia, Pennsylvania around 1840, the daughter of a Daniel Boyce and Levinia DeHaveven. Jumping back to Sterling's mother's childhood in Philadlephia, we can find her in 1880 at 802 South Second Street in a household consisting of an Oyster Dealer named William Boothby, herself, and children named Mary, William, Mabel, and Rebecca (Sterling's mother).

Please explain to a person outside the USA why this fact is relevant ? How did affect his art ? Who gives a... ? Okay, I give up. Not everything need affect his art. Americans are free to be in whichever political party they chose. And he was open about, raised money for candidates. ClevelandExPat (talk)
