Orphaned references in Stress in early childhood

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Stress in early childhood's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 11:42, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality of 29 November edits

I had originally planned to tag just the

editorializing when I noticed that it was added in a batch of substantial revisions and deletions by user Mike Scheeringa on 29 November. Looking at the edit history shows the removal and revision of entire sections of the article on a single night, without discussion. Editorializing aside, he also appears to have cited himself
at one point (although it is valid research published in a reputable journal). I copied his name into Google to find that he is indeed a qualified expert in psychiatry, but that he has a number of potential conflicts-of-interest, among them the publication of rival research and the pending release of a book.

Though I certainly agree with some of his revisions (eg, the removal of the how-to section), given their extent I do believe that this article requires outside review for neutrality. I myself lack the qualifications to do so and furthermore I'm uncertain how exactly to treat this particular instance of original research. --Arikeri (talk) 05:19, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I just went through all of Mike Scheeringa's November 2020 edits one by one. Here is a summary of his edits and what I've reverted.
I agree with his removal of basic biological information on stress; it didn't even have a focus on children in specific. He also removed some content which was totally inappropriate for Wikipedia, such content telling the reader how to spot early childhood abuse in a very direct fashion. Another removed item was a section that only had "a single reference from 1997 and no supporting research". I did not check whether it did or did not have supporting research myself, but it was indeed a singular primary source backing it all up; the quality and quantity of sources for this specific theory was simply not there. I did, however, decide to re-add the ACE pyramid image, I thought that one was quite useful.
The biggest problems were the obvious
synthesis
problems in his ACE additions. Regardless, in my opinion, the COI combined with the aforementioned issues is enough reason for me to revert all his additions where he cited himself. It should also be noted that during his edits some seemingly unrelated sources got tangled up and seemed to source completely irrelevant material. I presume this wasn't the case before his edits.
All in all, the article is back to a neutral state, in my opinion.--Megaman en m (talk) 13:42, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
