I believe the meaning of the work "Tapejara" to be rather something like "Lord of the roads", instead of the published "The Old Being". --Bilthon (talk) 05:10, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's not at all clear that the <j> in <Tapejara> should be /dʒ/. The Wikipedia page on Tupí doesn't list anything I could envision a <j> writing; the closest would be /j/ (explicitly not the English <j> sound!) or /ʃ/ (which would probably be written <x>, and I imagine is in <Tupuxuara>). I've removed it. Scientific names don't necessarily have a single correct pronunciation, especially in cases where an element of the name is derived from a language other than Greek or Latin (in that case, it can be debated whether pronunciation should follow the original language, or should be Latinesque).
