A year or so ago I found the New York Times article written the day after the famous match. It said that in spite of it being a five-set match, with a ten-minute break after the third set, it took about two hours and thirty minutes to play. You've gotta remember that 60 years ago tennis was *different*. Play was continuous, more or less, there were no TV breaks, and with these two it was serve and volley. Matches were *fast*. Hayford Peirce, could not find the NYT article but this article in the Evening Independent mentions the second set as lasting just 16 minutes and given the scorelines of the remaining sets I agree it is very unlikely this match lasted almost five hours. The source mentioned (The Tennis Book anthology) does list it as the 11th greatest match but only mentions the duration of the first set ('an hour and thirteen minutes..') so I have removed the match duration from the paragraph.--Wolbo (talk) 22:42, 28 June 201 (UTC)
