Notability

This article is about an influential New Zealand musician and former front man of one of New Zealand's leading bands Salmonella Dub.

I have removed the speedy deletion tag. This is an article about a legitimate musician who has formed a major part of the band Salmonella Dub and has now released a solo album. Kiwipaul 11:31, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Kiwipaul. Salmonella Dub are very clearly notable - New Zealand's leading band in their genre - and they have toured Europe twice. So when their lead singer goes solo, that is equally notable. dramatic 08:38, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
agreed, very notable. Mention the name Tiki to almost ANY New Zealander and they'll know who you're talking about. 124.168.25.170 (talk) 00:53, 21 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2011 Arrest

This article appears biased against police. It only gives Tiki's point of view, nothing from police or other witnesses that were there. I'm not confident I can update the page given my lack of experience with Wikipedia, it is sure to generate a bit of controversy. But I think it is important to maintain Wikipedia's neutral standpoint, something that is lacking in this article at the moment. See http://entertainment.msn.co.nz/article.aspx?id=8245818 for quotes from Tiki saying how he "loves the police" and is not mad at them. See http://tvnz.co.nz/entertainment-news/police-defend-arrest-tiki-taane-4115672 for senior police supporting the actions of the arresting officer, saying that he was confident his staff acted professionally and appropriately. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.189.201.34 (talk) 01:34, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Redundancy in sentence needs correction

Under the heading "Legal issues", it states "He sang the song 'Fuck tha police' at a gig in Tauranga, claiming he was singing lyrics from N.W.A's 'Fuck tha Police'." Obviously, the redundancy ought to be removed. Bricology (talk) 22:15, 13 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

2022 Anti-Mandate protests

Taane expressed vocal and online support for the 2022 protests against the New Zealand Covid-19 mandates and expressed support for the large protest encampment outside Parliament, shouldn't this be listed in some way, perhaps under a heading like political/conspiracy views? He is listed as a supporter on the associated pages for said protests, so presumably those pages have citations of when he was quoted as saying so. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2404:440E:2775:B500:5076:4C69:215C:254A (talk) 06:21, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
