I thought insteead of putting work in slow progress into the article page, I would put it here instead while I gathered info--A Y Arktos\talk 12:44, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Link to the Eureka Rebellion

Should we provide a link from this page to the article about the Eureka Rebellion? I think we should because of it's importance in the period. Yvg09 (talk) 03:15, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

We already do, in the "Backfiring Guns " section. Graham87 08:14, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
And now it's the "Background" section, thanks to this edit to fix some vandalism. Graham87 08:31, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Text about Phillip Blashki

I've removed the text about Phillip Blashki because it's far more relevant in his article. We don't need to mention how one particular person made use of the gold from the Victorian gold rush, especially in the background section. Graham87 06:13, 17 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

External link added

I moderate the Culture Victoria website and have added an external link to photographs documenting the Victorian Goldrush from the State Library of Victoria's collection.--Eleworth (talk) 04:10, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly inaccurate figure

It's stated that Britain received 500,000 million pounds as a result of the gold rush - this is the same as saying that that they received 500 billion pounds. Could it be clarified whether or not this is a figure adjusted to reflect current currency values. I checked the reference article for this point and came up empty handed.

Thanks for pointing this out. I've removed the figure for now. Graham87 07:52, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
