Infobox

I don't like how the current infobox leaves out Super League representative matches. Theres no reason for it not to. I guess it's been overlooked. Should be fixed.--

Leeds

Anyone know if it was rugby union or rugby league that he played in Leeds during 1999.  CorleoneSerpicoMontana  05:20, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nicknames

I have no idea why people keep deleting "Dell" and "International Dell" from the list of Sailor's nicknames and tagging it as "possible vandalism," but these are both legitimate nicknames he has been called many times and the one source even includes a quote from him where he says "That's why they call me International Dell." He was called "International Dell" multiple times the past two seasons on the Footy Show and Sunday Footy Show, which he occasionally guest hosted in 2009 and regularly hosted in 2010. 76.99.122.143 (talk) 05:16, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think the reverters are probably fly-by-nighters responding to the BLP tagging, not the actual content... Bigger digger (talk) 11:12, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I just put "International Dell" back in. I understand not putting in random nicknames, but when the player himself says "That's why they call me International Dell," it is obviously a notable nickname, and also not a BLP issue if he acknowledges it. 68.81.180.171 (talk) 20:25, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Again, I refer you to the Wikiproject: Rugby league discussion above. If you're unhappy with this, you're welcome to re-open the discussion.--

First of all, a "discussion" that consists of exactly one reply other than you and the person who you were arguing with certainly does not constitute any sort of Wikipedia policy. Second, the only other person who reply said "IMO it can be included if any independent reliable source can be found to support it's use." Your original reversion months ago deleted independent reliable sources. Here's the director of Fox Sports, of all things, calling him "International Dell"

And here's one from the Brisbane Times:

One of the biggest news outlets in the world and one of the bigger ones in Queensland calls "International Dell" and you don't think that constitutes and independent reliable source? No way. 68.81.180.171 (talk) 22:02, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Headlines of both those articles refer to him by his name. If the headlines used "International Dell" nobody would know who the article was about. Hence the nickname being non-notable. "Big Dell" on the other hand has been used in headlines, indicating that readers know who it refers to. Since both are essentially variations of 'Dell' I'm happy for that to be what appears in the infobox without any preceding adjective.--

How many other players are named "Dell" that nobody would know who "International Dell" is??? You have to be kidding me. The only person in the discussion you referenced who said that the headline is relevant is YOU. The only person who replied other than you and the other person in the dispute said "*any* (emphasis mine) independent reliable source can be found to support its use." You referred me to a discussion where literally nobody agreed with you that a nickname had to appear in a headline to be notable. 68.81.180.171 (talk) 22:19, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm saying that "International Dell" is a non-notable nickname. This is quantifiable because zero reliable publications are willing to use it in the headline of an article. You seem to be saying that even if it's never used in article headlines, it is still notable and deserves a prominent place in the article (even more prominent it seems than the nickname that is notable enough to be used in headlines). That will set a precedent for fanboys across Wikipedia to add completely unheard of nicknames to BLP infoboxes everywhere. You can see how that's a problem we should avoid right? The headline rule is a neat way of avoiding this. I'm happy for it to be broken if consensus is reached on the talk page to do so, but that won't happen here, because I'd say Sailor is referred to as "Big Dell" or just "Dell" about 100 times for each time he's referred to as "International Dell". You must know that too. So why are you going to all this trouble? Because your edit was reverted? That happens. Especially if there's a good reason for it.--
