Tamer Seckin (/ˈsɛtʃkiːn/), MD, FACOG, is a New York City-based gynecologist, laparoscopic surgeon, and specialist in endometriosis.[1][2][3][4] He founded the Endometriosis Foundation of America (EFA) with Padma Lakshmi in 2009.[5]
Early life and education
Seckin was born in Ankara, Turkey.[4] He graduated from Tarsus American College in 1972 and received his medical degree from Hacettepe University School of Medicine in 1978. He completed his gynecological residency training in 1985 at the Children's Hospital of State University of New York at Buffalo.[6]
Career
Seckin was the chief of gynecology at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center.[6][7] He is an associate attending physician and clinical instructor at Lenox Hill Hospital and also has a private practice in New York City.[6][7][8]

In 2012, Seckin received the United States Ellis Island Medal of Honor.[4] He is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Turkish Society.[9]
