OK to above!
Great work on the gold mines list mate. It'd be great if you could pitch in and help expand some of the major mine articles also. Good to have you on-board and sing out if you need a hand or advice. –Moondyne 00:31, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Cap lamp
Hey Calistemon, can you get a picture of a cap lamp (or whatever they call them in Australia)? I found this on flickr, and am uploading it, but I would like to have a more modern one. Also I have the one on the right for some history, I may do a picture of my vintage one. --kelapstick (talk) 16:21, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

A$
I noticed you often use non-standard symbols for the currency. Here's some guidance, which basically boils down to using {{AUD}} in the first instance, and then an unlinked "AUD" (or "A$" if you prefer). And a single space between the symbol and the amount. Cheers. –Moondyne 14:32, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

Through your amazing efforts - we now have a justifiable Category - Mining in Western Australia - note that I try very hard to not have parent cats and children cats side by side - although at times I do confuse myself (oh dear) - please feel free to adjust any obvious mistakes I might make - but - thanks again for your amazing work! cheers and happy new year

gold mines in wa - probably the most definitive guide that exists - online or off - better youre getting better than what anyone can get anywhere else - youre in need of some sort of medal - platinum perhaps ;)
- I have in front of me a hardcopy of Western Australian Mineral and Petroleum statistisc digest 2006-2007 page 28-31 - Gold (there is probably an online version of older and recent i suppose as well)- there is easily an article stub there for Gold mining in western australia - wold you be interested in dipping in the odd fact or two? interested if you are:) Suro13:33, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Super pit - it is not clear in the lead para what it was previously - like it was two or three previous open pits yes? I thought you had gone bush :0 suprised to see the stub grow into a tree in less than 12 hours - well done!
Nah not really (sorry I am a querulous old bastard - should be a camp cook obviously) - the potential for confusion is something that needs a damned good disambig sort of flow chart either in the super pit or the kalgoorlie article or somewhere - showing what came before and how and why it ended up as the super pit - if we get it right in wikipedia - we come up trumps against anyone else trying to pull one over us like the worst - one of their rookie journos called the darling scarp the darling escarpment this last week - they are constantly re -inventing western australia fast enough to make the life of a media monitor indexer nightmare :(
I understand - will try to trawl

Re: A question regarding some articles you deleted a while ago
Re your message: No, the articles are fine. Feel free to create all of the rest of the articles. These athletes meet the notability requirements by participating in the Olympics. The two articles that I deleted two years ago were deleted not because of the lack of notability, but the lack of context. The articles contained only the Olympic Medal templates. There wasn't even their name in the articles. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 19:23, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

DYK nomination for Rudolf-Kalweit-Stadion
- Your DYK for Rudolf-Kalweit-Stadion is almost ready to go; you just need to stop past and add some alt and rollover text to your image. If you leave a message on my talk page when you've done it I'll come back and give it the tick. - DustFormsWords (talk) 03:15, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- It's still not right. Images for DYK take the format:
File:Kallweit Stadion.jpg|100x100px|Rollover text goes here|alt=Grandstand of the Rudolf-Kalweit-Stadion in Hanover with the roof of the former Stadion Rote Erde.
Just copy what I have above, and replaced the bolded "Rollover text goes here" with the name of the image, similar to what you'd normally put in a caption field. Here you could probably use "Grandstand of the Rudolf-Kalweit-Stadion in Hanover". It's the text that will pop up if someone hovers their mouse over the image. - DustFormsWords (talk) 03:45, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- All fixed! I've given it the tick as "good to go". Congratulations. - DustFormsWords (talk) 04:00, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for adding WPBiography tags to articles. Please keep in mind you should only add "auto=inherit" if the class is being inherited from other projects. I disagree with blanket templates - the Asia templates are a real disgrace - whichever subject they attempt to cover - and would hope that for minding companies inAustralia - an active and inactive, or some other sort of criteria might be used to separate out, might evolves - large templates are unfriendly beasts and can be quite problematic
- I would rather 4 narrow scope templates with not many items in - than one bloody monster which ends up in arguments about what goes in and not Suro13:50, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

- Re 1943 enty - it's more likely disinformation. Lloyd's continued to list ships captured or sunk so as not to confirm to the Axis powers that they had indeed sunk the ship. NahBasically we have a just active wa project - but from odd corners - the old gang who went to the first or second meetup - has in its own way done its time - 4 years or so - which is quite surprising when you consider what real - life does to most people - idling away unpaid time on a dubious exercise like this one saw many fall away within a year of jimbo's visit/presence the other year - the number of active WA eds is currently low - but it still ticks away - just when a good friend decided he had enough - I thought I would put up a most of the people i knew here are now basically inactive - but it got misinterpreted - so I have taken it down. It would be good to try to get the numbers up again - at one point the activity of the WA project was the most impressive in the country. But most people have only so much interest in doing something for little return. There is only so much one can do - and even if some spit the dummy, or simply walk away - the machine keeps rolling on. Who knows what tommorrow brings ? Suro 05:18, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

TemplateNah I would tend to think of historic (ie former not current production) and current in terms of notability in criteria that do not equate with production volumes - as an older (sic) West Australian, I would tend to think of the goldfields companies that made big splashes 1890's - 1920's, (gold companies of West Australian Kalgoorlie goldfield) and then the more unusual of the 1970's - 1990's (maybe some flops, maybe some surprises) then the 2000's - I think the sense of decades might work better - significant gold mines or companies of the 1950's- 1960's (ie before the iron and nickel booms) - otherwise the curse of the template that is over-generalised in denying historic shifts over time DYK for Sundance Resources Limited
