About me

...and this banhammer.

I live in Hadlow, Kent, where I'm chief butler to a Manx cat. My hobbies and interests include molinology, deltiology, civil aircraft, railways and Dutch. I own a classic car, a 1953 Austin A40 Somerset. I have been researching the windmills, millers and millwrights of Norwich for a number of years. The results of my research can be found on the Norfolk Mills website. I have been an admin on Wikipedia since 26 September 2009, and am apparently an "old guard admin", whatever that means. I have an alternate account for use when away from my own computer and not in need of admin's tools - Mjroots2.

I am (distantly) related to a number of Wikinotable people, including

William Vousden VC.[5]

Great source of photos for British Isles and Germany articles

Geograph is a project to photograph locations in every OS grid square. This project covers the UK, Isle of Man and Ireland. Geograph Channel Isles covers the Channel Isles. Geograph Germany covers that country.

All photographs are Creative Commons 2.0-licenced, which means that they can be used on Wikipedia! They should be uploaded to Commons and this is a simple process involving downloading the image to your computer and then uploading it to Commons.

You can generate all info needed on Commons by clicking "Find out how to reuse this Image" beneath the image and then copying the generated Wiki markup from the "Wikipedia Template for image page" section into the basic upload form on Commons. All that is left then is to add categories.
