Gaelic pronunciation

Hi there, I've noticed your contributions to

Scottish Gaelic language. I'm currently (if sporadically) carrying out a project to correct inaccurate pronunciations of Gaelic mountain names in infoboxes, but I'm hampered by the fact that my knowledge of Gaelic pronunciation is fairly basic, and the sources I'm using seem to be contradictory. As you seem to know what you're doing in this area, I wonder if you'd care to look at User:Blisco/Gaelic, and correct any mistakes and/or comment on basic issues? Many thanks! --Blisco 18:44, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply

Hi,
I'm not sure I disagree with your additions to the first paragraph: the tradeoff between agility and colour ('emotion' is perhaps too subjective) is a common perception, whether true or not. The problem I see is that it now appears that this claim is backed up by the reference cited at the end of the paragraph. Can you a) verify that McKinney says something to that effect b) provide other references, or c) rephrase in a non-misleading way, maybe by putting those claims in a separate paragraph? Hi. When you recently edited James Clyman, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Shortcut (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

While it's fun to edit articles, you can't just add things to articles willy-nilly without reliable sources. If we did that, then this encyclopedia wouldn't be very reliable. Rklawton (talk) 02:17, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
