Welcome!

Hi, Baronnet,
Welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to

my user talk page
.

Additional tips

Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!

  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too.
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the
    votes for undeletion
page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
  • If you believe something you added or created has been unfairly treated, talk to the user or follow the steps in
    resolving disputes
  • If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the
    Community Portal
    .

Happy Wiki-ing.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Nancy-Université.gif

Thank you for uploading

image copyright tag
; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our

This is going too far

I don't like this bot, BetacommandBot, which threatened to delete Image:Nancy-Université.gif (the concern has been addressed, by the way). Deleters are already zealous ; if they are seconded by bots nowadays, Wikipedia will become hell. Being threatened of deletion by bots is frightening ! Deletion should only be able to be suggested by human beings, in my opinion. And not without any prior discussion on the discussion page :-o ! Speedy deletion is shocking when the image has been sitting there for almost 2 years. Without permanent watch from the uploader, a useful pic will be speedily deleted, which is a nuisance ; prior discussion would let someone else fill in the missing rationale. All the complaints about this bot are the sign that something is wrong ! Baronnet (talk) 23:14, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the {{

prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 02:09, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply

Proposed deletion of David Kuijers

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article David Kuijers, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Nothing to indicate particular notability.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's

dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page
.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the

proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Ricky81682 (talk) 10:59, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply

AfD nomination of David Kuijers

I have nominated David Kuijers, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/David Kuijers. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Ricky81682 (talk) 08:50, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to ARS!

Hi, Baronnet, welcome to the Article Rescue Squadron WikiProject! We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying and rescuing articles and content that have been nominated for deletion. Every day hundreds of articles are deleted, many rightfully so. But many concern notable subjects and are poorly written, ergo fixable, and should not be deleted. We try to help these articles and content to quickly improve and address the concerns of why they are proposed for deletion. This covers a lot of ground and your help is appreciated!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

And once again — Welcome!

Proposed deletion of Geneanet

The article Geneanet has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not meet
WP:GNG

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be

deleted for any of several reasons
.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
