Hi ... many tx for the DYK notice for DYK for Wilson's Arch (Jerusalem).

Quick question .. all others I ever received, I believe, had this neat little click-tab, to check how many hits the dyk had. That is handy, as over time it helps one who does not want to have to search for an old DYK's stats on the DYK day. This one, however, seems to be missing that. Just wondering ...

Best.--Epeefleche (talk) 08:07, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. I had a look back and I think it's because you nominated the article but didn't write it. I believe the bot that sends out these messages only puts those links on for the article creators, so the link will be on his/her talk page rather than yours. It's just the way the templates work... Cheers, BigDom 08:18, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ahah -- that would explain why I never saw it before. Though I fail to see the rationale underlying the bot difference. Nevertheless ... I won't worry over it. Many tx for taking the time to figure it out, and respond.--Epeefleche (talk) 08:23, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your participation in the
March 2011 GAN backlog elimination drive

On behalf of

March 2011 Good articles backlog elimination drive
. Awards and barnstars will go out shortly for those who have reviewed a certain number of articles.

During the backlog drive, in the month of March 2011,

  • 522 GA nominations were undertaken.
  • 423 GA nominations passed.
  • 72 GA nominations failed.
  • 27 GA nominations were on hold.

We started the GA backlog elimination drive with 378 GA nominations remaining, with 291 that were not reviewed at all. By 2:00, April 1, 2011, the backlog was at 171 GA nominations, with 100 that were left unreviewed.

At the start of the drive, the oldest unreviewed GA nomination was 101 days (Andrei Kirilenko (politician), at 20 November 2010, reviewed and passed 1 March 2011); at the end of the drive the oldest unreviewed GA nomination was 39 days (Gery Chico, at 24 February 2011, still yet to be reviewed as of this posting).

While we did not achieve the objective of getting the backlog of outstanding GA nominations down to below 50, we reduced the GA backlog by over half. The GA reviews also seemed to be of a higher quality and have consistently led, to say the least, to marginal improvements to those articles (although there were significant improvements to many, even on the some of the nominations that were failed).

If you would like to comment on the drive itself and maybe even make suggestions on how to improve the next one, please make a comment at

Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Good articles/GAN backlog elimination drives/March 2011#Feedback. Another GA backlog elimination drive is being planned for later this year, tentatively for September or October 2011. Also, if you have any comments or remarks on how to improve the Good article process in general, Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles can always use some feedback at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Good articles
.

Again, on behalf of User:Wizardman and myself, thank you for making the March 2011 GA backlog elimination drive a success.

Matty Barlow.... HELP

Hello again.. I read all the pear review comments and you mentioned bits about personal life, well for the past 2 weeks iv'e been looking and I cant find a thing. Just wondered if you could help me out with it abit. Also I think I could expand abit on Stalybridge but there isnt much more to realy write about after that. Thanks, –LiamTaylor17:54, 10 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'll try and have a look for some more sources but like you say I don't think there's much more available. Unfortunately though not every article can be a GA, sometimes there just isn't enough information out there. BigDom (talk) 08:39, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Page-views

On the WP:Football discussion you mentioned that Man City had 150,000+ views more than the seasons article. Please could you tell me where I can find page-views for wiki articles? TheBigJagielka (talk) 13:16, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Of course. If you go on any article and click the "View history" tab, there will be an external link fairly near the top of the page that says "Page view statistics". There's also a few other links, such as number of page watchers etc. If you click the link it will tell you the number of page views for the last 30 days or for each month and there's a chart to show the number of views each day. Hope this helps, BigDom (talk) 13:28, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Historical newspapers

Hello. For a few months, I have online access via a library to a selection of 19th century newspapers, hence the frantic creation of season articles before said access runs out. If there's anything specific you'd like me to look up or verify (not whole articles, please :-) feel free to ask. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 11:37, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I might be coming to you when my access runs out, then. Be warned, the runs aren't all complete. I've just discovered a four-year gap 1896-1899 inclusive in the Birmingham Daily Post, which really doesn't help. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 21:51, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

DYK - Rewards and Fairies

I have expanded and reformatted the article (April 17). I would appreciate it if you have time to review it again. Thanks Dabbler (talk) 13:09, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Delete

Hi, thank you for your correction, I always learn from my mistakes (which I seem to make a lot of) and I will Afd it see what happens. Cheers, –LiamTaylor14:13, 19 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, and I think myself that I have improved on here an awful lot. –LiamTaylor16:33, 19 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

DYK nomination of Adrian Lombard

Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Yoninah (talk) 20:32, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply

Thanks for reviewing the article. I particularly like the proposed ALT1 hook and have added references to support it. Cheers, BigDom (talk) 22:34, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Parmo

Good call, Dom, removing the section on the 'poisoned parmo' film. There's no evidence I can see on the www to substantiate that the film exists, let alone that it has any noteworthy significance. Nice one. Guffydrawers (talk) 08:00, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
