Welcome and thanks

Hi, good catch on that sneaky vandalism on S.L. Benfica, thanks for pointing that out! That one was tricky to find in the history because there were a lot of edits, but usually you can look in the article history and find the vandal edit and revert it yourself (it's usually one of the most recent edits). Just save the most recent clean version. Don't hesitate to leave me a message on my talk page if you have any questions or need anything, I'm always glad to help. Cold Fusion

Hi Blackcat, you wrote this on JzG's page:

Hi JzG, sorry to bother you again, but it seems we have a little problem on it.wiki. BTW of the blacklisted site, there's an user that states there's also useful material, freely released by scientists who wrote about Cold Fusion, and asked for those documents to be whitelisted. Now the question is: have en.wiki either blacklisted the whole site or left some deeplinks to some given documents in white list (In other words: what do we lose in terms of knowledge if we blacklist that site)? Thanks again for your attention. Sergio † BC™ (Write me!) 18:35, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that JzG is a Wikipedia administrator. Are you bringing something to his attention with regard to the Italian Cold Fusion page? What is the problem? And what is the blacklisted page you are referring to? StevenBKrivit (talk) 04:47, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Liverpool F.C. wiki

Hello, I am the lead sysop on the Liverpool F.C. wiki. It is a wiki dedicated solely to Liverpool F.C.. We aim to make the ultimate database for the club we all love. Since adopting the incredibly inactive wiki about a month ago we have greatly increased the article count and modernized it from it's previous state. The problem is there are not many active members on the site and we need more for the site to properly grow. It is well organized and on it's way to be a great site we just need more editors to expand. It is based on Wikia's network of wikis. Like Wikipedia it is free to use and the editing process is exactly the same. If you know how to edit Wikipedia you will know how to edit the Liverpool F.C. wiki. Now for the question you may be asking yourself. Why edit there? Wikipedia has articles on Liverpool. This is true. At the Liverpool wiki it is all about Liverpool. We allow editors to edit anything about Liverpool no matter how trivial. We allow edits on reserve and academy players, and even things as trivial as the fitness coaches for the year 2011. We also do not lock pages to registered users. That means if you have something to say about Steven Gerrard you can click edit and not view source and actually write something. I would love for you to come by and check the wiki out. Feel free to edit any page. Every time you click edit your ARE helping this wiki grow. Thanks for taking the time to read this! http://liverpoolfc.wikia.com/wiki/Liverpool_FC_Wiki --Coffeeclub213 (talk) 02:13, 14 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have thanked you at the Talk:Alessandra Kersevan for pointing out the meaning of the term "Negationism" has been changed in Italian public discourse - in the way it is unseen in the rest of the Europe.

I also changed the section's title and corrected what I believe was a typo (you wrote "left-wing" here, but you probably wanted to write "right-wing", am I correct?) DancingPhilosopher my talk 22:40, 14 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

re: File:Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, Rome, Italy.jpg

Hi Blackcat. I assume that, when using the Italian language (as it happens with the Spanish) using the imperative is not rude. But in English, especially if you shout (capital letters) it definitely is. And it's even worse if, as it's the case, it was not me the one that included the template. Of course that (provided that I uploaded the file to commons and subsequently deleted it when I noticed the problem with Italian FOP) I should have removed also the template, for another person not to make the same mistake. But that's very different of including said template. Best regards --Ecemaml (talk) 19:06, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, your "please" makes you shouting not that rude. Especially considering that I didn't tag anything, as you again fail to acknowledge. --Ecemaml (talk) 08:49, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Blackcat

I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).

So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.

What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.

The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small

list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback
page.

Sara Tetro

Where did you get Sara Tetro's birth date from? I certainly can't see it in the New Zealand Herald article used as a reference.-gadfium 02:03, 16 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

First of all I would like to point out I am not a Sara Tetro's fan nor my field are models or trivia: I was working on the Italian article of Craig Innes and only incidentally "stumbled" into Sara Tetro's one (just because she's his wife). That said, I was disturbed by the lack of vital stats in the said article and made a quick research. From here one can deduce that her b'day is on 11 April; the circumstance is partly confirmed by this 17 April article on Stuff (it doesn't clearly say it's on 11 April but at least it suggests us that it was on the previous week). Finally, this March 2006 article said that she was 36 at that time.
Now, since I know that the Anglo-Saxons don't usually attribute a given age until b'day (to make it clear: we Italians use to say that one "is 35" even if she is 34 and 11 months old :-) ), she had to be 37 on next April, thus she was born in 1969. If we don't want to assume she was born on 11 April 1969 we at least must assume she was born on April 1969. Hope that the explanation was satisfactory. Best Regards. -- SERGIO aka the Black Cat 15:21, 16 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, that's good research. FB is not considered a reliable source, but I'm happy that the three sources added together support the date.-gadfium 18:43, 16 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You are right and I agree that FB is not a reliable source (though it's about NZNM's FB official page). Let's say that I used it as non-official source just to confirm a supposition. -- SERGIO aka the Black Cat 19:53, 16 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the comment Sergio. I'll just say that I am bisexual, and approve of civil unions. @GiantSnowman: hello, I know that Wikipedia relies on reliable sources, I am an 18-years long editor on it.wiki and 10+ years long administrator on Commons. Marco Lanna shares the honours won by UC Sampdoria in that period since he was the team's centre-back :) -- Blackcat 14:03, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Where is the source saying he won the honour? Saying he won the honour because the team he was contracted to won the honour is not the same. GiantSnowman 14:05, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
ehm.. @GiantSnowman:, association football is a sports team, not individual. When you're in the first-team roster of the team you win the honours. Especially if you're the first choice and have more than 122 league matches :D -- Blackcat 14:15, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No, you do not automatically win the honour. GiantSnowman 14:16, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In Italy yes. If you're part of the 1st team's roster you win the honour automatically. But Lanna played 122 League matches for Sampdoria from 1987 to 1993 and was, for example, also on the pitch in the Cups' Winners Cup 1990 matches including the semi vs AS Monaco (see here...). -- Blackcat 14:52, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
