Hello, and
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL), you can comment to that effect on Talk:Floyd James Thompson. Then you should do one of the following:
- Make a note on the original website that re-use is permitted under the GFDL and state at Talk:Floyd James Thompsonwhere we can find that note; or
- Send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL.

Hi, I apreciate the fact that you have gotten permission to use the image on Wikipedia, but the problem here is that Wikipedia only accept free content, and having an exclusive permission to use something only on Wikipedia does not make it free content, this was explained on the notice that where put on the image when you uploaded it (please let us know how that message could be made clearer).
What we need is for the copyright holder to give explicit permission for anyone to use that image under terms that would qualify as a free licence, that is anyone must be eable to use, modify and potentialy use that image for commercial purposes. Only then can it be considered to be "free licensed" and used on Wikipedia. Please see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for details for more info and tips on how to go about requesting this.
Failing that please read

Do you have complex?
Do you always humiliate people in order to get advantage on them? Or is it a Kurdish inherited habit, a complex of not having a country and not being a nation. One Kurd does not understands the other when they speak to each other, you know that I am sure. Do not tempt people to be racists...especially Turks, trust me.(cantikadam 13:53, 8 November 2006 (UTC))

- I don't get it, why did you delete the picture you did not wait for me to replay, 3 Minutes after I uploaded the picture you deleted it. You at least could have waited for me to reply and then could have decided to delete image. There was no copyright on the image at all; I also took the time to write to the owner of the picture to ask permission to USE IT ON WIKIPEDIA. He said it was OK to use it on WIKIPEDIA. YOU NEED TO TAKE TIME TO READ THE INFO ON THE PICTURE AND NOT DELEAT THEM WITHIN 3 MINUTES. I WILL UPLOAD THIS IMAGE AGIAN; IT IS NOT INFRINGING ANY COPYRIGHTS, ITS TOTALLY FREE CONTENT. --D.Kurdistani 23:21, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- "Ok to use on Wikipedia" is not considered a sufficiently free license; our image policy is based not only on avoiding lawsuits ourselves, but also ensuring that our content is as freely redistributable as possible. If you would like to re-upload the file, I suggest contacting the copyright holder and asking him to release the file under a license such as GFDL or CC-by-SA, and then forwarding the email to permissions (at) wikimedia (dot) org. For now, however, if you continue to upload this file with this license it will continue to be deleted, by myself or another administrator; permission-only images are not accepted on Wikipedia. --RobthTalk 23:26, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

WikiProject
Hi D.Kurdistani,
I think you're right about strating the project. Just use one of the names we suggested because they seem to be the logical ones; others offer some names with full paranoia. The problem is that I was really busy until last week and coincidently my ISP cut my Internet so I need some time to come back and do some work on this. But if you have time please do the Main Page and the other themes of the project so that people could see there is at least a start. Apart from that I think there is a lot of unfairness going on in Kurdish related articles and there's always the Turkish, Arabic or Persian users around to change the factual Kurdish articles to their countries product and that's simply because Kurds haven't got a country. It's like we need to fight for our history, literature and any other subject because every country in the middle east are trying to hide the Kurdish factor in their culture and political arena. This means we have a lot work to do I'll be hopefully joining the project. Keep it up. Ozgur Gerilla 17:14, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Hi Diyako, everything looks good on the WikiProject Kurdistan page. Now we need to start doing some work on the articles. I have to inform you that I can't use the Internet for a couple of weeks due to ISP cut but will return as soon as it's sorted. Thanks again for the work. Ozgur Gerilla 15:30, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Hello D.Kurdistani. Thank u very much for the invitation. I am quite busy at the moment and I will not be able to contribute in the project as much as I would like to. Perhaps sometime in the future. U did a good work, by the way! Ciao Hectorian 17:31, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

hey, u left a message on my talk page a few weeks ago regarding this project (sorry for the late answer). I'd be glad to participate in the project. can u tell me more about it, & have u guys started working on some articles already? Soapyyy 00:52, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- No it was not discussed. Wikipedia doesn't belong to anyone, I would like to remind you. Even Ozgurgerilla had suggested that he had favored the WP Kurds name. Believe me, this will be better and more efficient for the project. People are not allowed to create WikiProjects to their liking by themselves either - that can also be seen as disruptive. In the proposals page this was discussed, and it was clear that Kurds was not a problem and was preferred. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Cheers! Baristarim 04:33, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
- Please read my posts in the talk page of the project and try to be constructive. WikiProjects are open to everyone and everyone has a right to contribute, you cannot block people from contributing per WP:OWN, that's all I am saying. I am saying this in a good faith advice, otherwise all that the project will do will be to edit-war over the template - this way the project can function without problems. Do not emotionalize this issue please.. Baristarim 04:39, 14 February 2007 (UTC)]
- Have a look at this for example: Wikipedia:WikiProject Basque. Listen, I know the issue, but we cannot overlook the fact that there is no independent Kurdish state. Take a look at how Basques dealt with the situation. That way the projects can get involved in articles more easily. Cheers! Baristarim 04:58, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
- But that's exactly what the discussion in the proposals page was for? :) Don't forget that it was also with your individual decision that it was named as such, right? The other question is for future considerations: not only is there too much potential for edit-wars over that template if it stayed like that, but there is also a problem with WP:V - of what can be included in Kurdistan. I am sorry, but things are not clear cut as you might think. That region has been home to many other peoples for millenia like Assyrians, Armenians, Turks, Persians and Arabs - when I say that there are serious academic and legitimate problems about WP:V, I mean it. As I had said earlier, there is not much Wikipedia can do if there is no independent Kurdish state. Listen, there is not even a WikiProject TRNC even thought that is an actual state, do you see what I mean? Its stubs are speedily deleted for that reason. I am seriously cool with WP Kurds - but I am also worried about the actual efficiency this project will achieve if this issue is not taken care of. I have a lot of experience with WP structures and running with WPTR, so I will try to help out as much as I can as time passes by. Cheers! Baristarim 06:00, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject:Kurdistan
Hello Diyako,
Hope you're fine. First of all, what Baristarim is doing is very wrong. We have decided the projects name and have applied it; thus no one has the right to tell us what to name it. The name should be changed to Kurdistan as soon as possible and should Baristarim behave in the same manner, then we would have to put some administrators into the issue. Concerning the content and articles of which the Project should work for, to be honest there is a huge lack of academic studies in Kurdish let alone Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean we have nothing to do. In fact there is so many articles we could add and improve regarding Kurds and Kurdistan. We just have to work on the WikiProject page from now on, let's start of by listing the articles we could improve. Currently I am busy reading our rights and the WikiRules to proceed in a systamic manner. We should decide fundamental problems such as categorizing the articles, by country or else. Please do proceed developing the Project, I think this project is absolutely vital for Kurdish-related articles to be improved for the better Wikipedia and realiable Internet source. And do not hesitate to ignore those nationalist users who are accusing as of doing a political propaganda but are boycotting our Project pages; apart from that everyone should be welcomed to participate. Ozgur Gerilla 02:18, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- Not quite. No project belongs to one person Ozgur, you know that. By the way Diyako, who gave you permission to remove my posts [3]?? Do not do so again, it is not your personal website. And I have failed to see any discussion in the talk page, why did you move it to Kurdistan? This was talked over many times, Kurds is much better. There will be WP:V wars over many articles since the borders of the geographical region are undefined...Baristarim 15:50, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

- Generally, if you want to rename a page and it's disputed,
- WRONG. This is not an article. Please cease stalking me and go do something more useful GreekWarrior. Baristarim 16:06, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- In any case, this issue is not a top priority for me, so we will see how it will go. However, I really would like to see some discussion in the talk page. Baristarim 16:16, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- You did not even try to get everyone else input on this before changing the name. You do not have the right to change the name by yourself, we as a group decided on that name. Stop trying to rename it, if you can’t contribute in a positive and constructive manner then please don’t contribute to this project at all. All I have seen you contribute to in this project is in naming it, other than that I have not seen you do anything else. --D.Kurdistani 19:15, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- "Group"? What group has decided this? In the final roll call there were only two users. Get real :)) In any case, it is irrlevant, Wikipedia is not the local high school where every group has their "own turf". You were the only one pushing for the Kurdistan name in the WP Proposals page. I contribute to wide range of articles, so don't pass such a judgement call on my contributions please. Had I really been interested in negativity, I wouldn't even have said a word about this whole thing but just went on edit-warring at articles about the WP template per WP:VERIFIABILITY - meaning the criteria that can be used to determine what article falls into the scope of "Kurdistan" and not "Kurds". With the Kurdistan name the WP will become marginal, can't you see that? In fact, maybe you should go ahead and plaster all sorts of Ocalan and PKK images on the WP, how about that? That would really nail the coffin. I put another post at the WP talk page about how it is childish to try to create the WP before the country. It is lame dude, cannot u see that?? :)) I fully support WP Kurds and I know that I can really help but I also know that with Kurdistan this project will become dead in a short while (in fact I am not even sure if it is active at this stage really). All righty WPOR ladies and gentleman, great job last week with our state song and gemstone. I have bumped them up to Start class. I haven’t looked at the contributions, so the COTW award will be later. This week’s articles are Darlene Hooley, by special request, and another Top stub, our very own state rock, the Thunderegg. Yes, apparently we have a state rock and state gemstone. No word on whether there is a state stone too. Hooley basically needs some sources to make it to the next level. Fall WPOR COTW
Welcome to autumn and the weekly COTW news. Great job to those who helped out with last week’s articles: Darlene Hooley & Thunderegg. Both made great improvements. This week, something a little different. With fall upon us, the photo ops are going to be harder to get, so we have a photo request fulfillment drive. Take a look at the requested pictures for Oregon category or the graphics subproject for what’s needed. Then go take a picture, or search online for a free picture to upload (US gov sites are great and there are links available from the above links). If you fill a request, be sure to remove the request template from the article’s talk page. Our other item is another red link removal drive, this time on the flagship Oregon article. Like the state parks red link drive, try to coordinate on the talk page. Again to opt out or suggest future collaborative efforts click here. Aboutmovies 02:02, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

As we have quite a few new members over the last six months, I’ll make another pitch for our various subprojects. Listed here, you will find a variety of groups focused on specific areas of Oregon from transportation to culture. Not only can you sign up and coordinate work there, but each often has useful sources and templates related to that topic. No pressure, just an introduction to those new to the project. Adios. This week, its back to stubs with one of the largest newspapers in the state, The Register-Guard, and a request with Oregon Coast. Feel free to help with either one, and the paper article is so short a DYK should be pretty easy to get (just need 5X expansion). Hello again to those of
This week marks the one week anniversary of the COTW, so a brief highlight reel:
- At least 10 DYKs
- Three articles passed GA after being listed at COTW
- Probably around 25 articles started
- Almost all Top importance articles are now better than Stub class
And now on with our countdown. This week we have two requests, the Willamette Meteorite and Tom McCall. Hopefully we can get both to GA quality. Click here to opt out of these messages, or click here to make a suggestion for a future COTW. Thank you. Aboutmovies (talk) 09:42, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Ssssh, Be Very Very Quiet, its Oregon COTW time
Howdy folks, its time for this week’s edition of Oregon’s Collaboration of the Week. First off, great job the last two weeks with Greg Oden & the Hospital red link drive. We had close to ten new hospital articles and two DYKs () plus other improvements to the list itself. So thank you to those who helped out. This week, we have on a sad note Kevin Duckworth, and the Statesman Journal. Duckworth should have plenty of sources so hopefully in tribute we can get his article up to standards. With the SJ, hopefully we can get it above a stub so all three of the top three papers are no longer stubs, and maybe even a DYK and GA like we got from the Register-Guard? Once again, click here to opt out of these messages, or click here to make a suggestion for a future COTW. Hasta la bye bye. Aboutmovies (talk) 20:17, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Hello WikiProject Oregon contributors. It's time for another COTW. Thank you to those who helped improve Kevin Duckworth and the Statesman Journal last week, we received another DYK () for the SJ. This week, by request we have Mr. Ken Kesey and not by request Nike, Inc.. Nike is the only Start class article in the top 30 of those articles selected for the hard copy edition, and it could easily be improved to B class. Hi Kurdistani,
I have seen you are active in the kurdish themes. I have created a Bekir Kaya article and it has been requested a speedy deletion. Could you please advise me a little? The one who wanted a deletion wrote I sort of copied 44% of a HDP webpage. From my point of view I rephrased most of the phrases, except one. After the request, I rephrased this one, too.
