Template:Hydrides by group

Hello. I was looking for an alternative to arsanes, but didn't use arsine because it is already linked in the template and its not about the class of arsanes but just a single member (arsane). Just saw that

selanes has the same problem Christian75 (talk
) 21:42, 15 July 2023 (UTC)

I suspect there are lots of other class vs parent-of-class chemical examples...MOS isn't exactly consistent there. But in cases where there is only an article about the parent (not enough to say about the class to write a full article), there is usually a note that the parent's name also refers to the class. In this case:
The term arsine is commonly used to describe a class of
alkyl. For example, As(C6H5)3, called triphenylarsine
, is referred to as "an arsine".
and obviously "arsines" is the plural of it. I don't know what's best to do for this template. Would it be useful to have a stub arsines that defines and links out to the various subclasses? DMacks (talk) 22:07, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
I'm not sure what's the best idea. Maybe just leave it as it is. I didn't see that the article was describing arsines too. The singular title on Wikipedia makes it diffucult for classes of compounds: arsine versus arsines... Christian75 (talk) 11:26, 16 July 2023 (UTC)

I am requesting you to please block pallavi.p.g28 because she is repeatedly and continuously making disruptive edits in the cast section of Udaariyaan. She is reverting correct information 103.101.212.245 (talk) 15:31, 30 July 2023 (UTC)

I put them both down to SEMI for moving, which should be enough. Let me know if you need more admin work. DMacks (talk) 14:50, 30 July 2023 (UTC)
Thanks! That's all. SilverLocust 💬 15:33, 30 July 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for handling the RM. I'm going to leave the protections as-is for now. DMacks (talk) 16:23, 30 July 2023 (UTC)

"your behavior"

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Shellyne Rodriguez. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. DMacks (talk) 17:23, 7 August 2023 (UTC)

Reading

WP:WEIGHT section) is important for seeing why the content itself and your editing pattern may be a problem, unrelated to the edit-warring behavior. Trying to support someone who you feel has gotten an unfair treatment or add information to help others you feel might be disadvantaged are not valid reasons for including content. Macy's Thanksgiving Parade

The Macy's balloons debuted in 1927, not 1928, as stated in this article. Please see this Smithsonian Magazine article about Tony Sarg, at https://www.smithsonianmag.com/arts-culture/the-puppeteer-who-brought-balloons-to-the-thanksgiving-day-parade-180947863/ along with the opening page of the Norman Rockwell Museum's current exhibit devoted to Sarg, at https://www.nrm.org/2022/11/tonysarg/ Mancinifan2023 (talk) 17:15, 13 August 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Mancinifan2023:,
Thanks for the note. I updated the article, citing the Normal Rockwell Museum source (
WP:RS sometimes gives less authority to a "contributing" writer, even for generally-reliable sources like Smithsonian). It looks like even the Mental Floss ref says 1927, and I don't see a source for 1928. DMacks (talk

Aryabhatta

In the article on aryabhatta you have added the reference of Subhash kak.

The Aryabhatiya is also remarkable for its description of relativity of motion. He expressed this relativity thus: "Just as a man in a boat moving forward sees the stationary objects (on the shore) as moving backward, just so are the stationary stars seen by the people on earth as moving exactly towards the west.

But the author Subhash Kak isn't considered as a reliable author since he made a lot of pseudoscience claims about indigenous aryanism,Ancient astronomy in the Rig Veda and claim of speed of light in rig veda. Kudiophi clopsvimbi (talk) 05:02, 21 August 2023 (UTC)

You are attacking almost all my {{clarify}} tags

You are attacking almost all my {{clarify}} tags (like "that is called a typo", instead just saying "typo"), some of which you deleted, instead of just resolve them, with a non-attacking explanation (like just saying "independent variable in a function"), without attacking them. There is no need for attacking my {{clarify}} tags. If you are very experienced Wikipedia editor and an expert in particular field of science, that doesn't mean you may attack non-expert unexperienced Wikipedia editors like me. Of course non-experts could obtuse, so please! And according to you, almost all {{clarify}} tags across Wikipedia should be deleted, because almost all {{clarify}} tags are asking someone to clarify information from unclear sources, which is absurd. I am a Wikipedia inclusionist, not a Wikipedia deletionist. Do not just delete {{clarify}} tags across Wikipedia, because many of my {{clarify}} tags are resolved by many inclusionist editors. Bernardirfan (talk) 04:06, 25 September 2023 (UTC)

Obviously (ha!)
wp:tag-bombing rather than taking time to try to figure some of the easier cases out, such as by looking in article history or the abstracts of the very refs that were already cited. And the comments in your tags felt emotional tone and well out-of-proportion for minor concerns like an un-linked unit of measurement. Note that [[Deletionism and inclusionism in Wikipedia] has zero to do with tagging. DMacks (talk

SANTA INC TRASH

I am not disrupting the santa inc page, I am adding factual and sourced citations of information to counter the non-factual and unsourced information already present presented as truth. This entire BS website is full of propaganda and this here is testament of it. Did you even read the sources I posted? Did you read the sources of the in-factual claim that was already posted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.30.100.36 (talk) 08:31, 4 October 2023 (UTC)

I am commenting as an admin, that you are being disruptive by edit-warring: repeatedly making the same or similar edits that others dispute. Take it to the article talkpage and get consensus for your idea. This is a behavioral policy on wikipedia, regardless of the merits of your idea. DMacks (talk) 08:35, 4 October 2023 (UTC)
