Please propose and discuss new lead images before changing them. In many cases, the existing lead image is quite good (having been viewed and reviewed by numerous editors), so "new" lead images are likely to be less good. If an image is already used elsewhere in the article, there is often a reason it is there and not the lead image. Furthermore, recently uploaded images are often copyright violations, and even if not, sometimes get deleted due to uncorrectable licensing issues.
