Information icon Hi Guekpat! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at The Gunpowder Plot: Exploding the Legend that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. You have been marking mutliple edits as Minor when they are not, including The Gunpowder Plot and practically every article you edited February 26th and February 25th. "de" in Spanish

Hey, saw your edit at XHEAT-FM and explaining the reversion. I'm assuming this is a suggested task? The name Dolores Porras Vda. de Pérez is a name with an abbreviation in it. Vda. is short for viuda (widow). Like "of", de is not usually capitalized in Spanish. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 01:47, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

National varieties of English

Information icon Hello. In a recent edit to the page Macchi C.200 Saetta, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. BilCat (talk) 20:02, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Advice, tips, and suggestions

Hi Guekpat! I have been going through your recent edits and first wanted to thank you for many of your helpful edits! There are some areas that I feel you could improve on.

1. You seem to have not done it since it was mentioned, but I feel like it needs to be emphasized since there were so many edits that I think that it important to emphasize that Wikipedia’s Manual of Style (MOS) requires that straight quotes be used, and not curly quotes per the policy

MOS:CURLY
.

2. Make sure that you do not change words or change punctuation of direct quotes.

3. Make sure that you do not unnecessarily capitalize words, especially after commas or references. Commas and references are not the end of sentences.

4. Another editor already mentioned it, but please do not switch between British and English spellings. Please see

MOS:ENGVAR
for more information on this policy.

5. You seem to be confusing certain words with similar meanings and/or spellings. Examples include "to" and "from" ([1]), "wear" and "were" ([2]), "stared" and "starred" ([3]), and "cause" and "case"([4]). Please check the definition of words if you are unsure of their meanings.

6. Make sure you maintain a

Words to watch" like in this edit
.

To me, your edits indicate that you are making good faith edits and appear to be

Teahouse for help or guidance. Thanks! Wikipedialuva (talk) 07:21, 5 March 2023 (UTC)[reply
