Hello. On my talk page, you asked me to explain why I believe people think my edits are racist. The user:Baseball Bugs contacted me on my talk page telling me that substituting "black" for "African American" was "racial POV-pushing" and that it won't be tolerated. I'm angry at the user's use of political correctness. I hate political correctness. I also don't know what "racial POV-pushing" is, so I'm confused there. Referring to African Americans as "black" is not racist.
Cool Stuff Is Cool (talk) 22:32, 25 August 2009 (UTC)Cool Stuff Is Cool
- Saying that you are "Racial POV-pushing" is hardly saying that what you are doing is racist, as you said. What he meant by "Racial POV-pushing" is that you are trying to push your opinion about being politically correctness on Wikipedia, which is not what this encyclopedia is for. If you want to spout off on how much you hate politically correctness, then go somewhere else to do it.--Henry talk 23:43, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Hello
Now that pleasantries have been exchanged, thank you to those who worked on the last two collaborations, the Semi-annual Great Oregon Picture Drive, and Oregon Country Fair and Geoff Petrie. For this edition of the COTW we have Gambling in Oregon and NRHP in Washington County. The hope for the later is to fill in the last few images (5) and then see if we can make it the first NRHP list in Oregon with an article for every entry (need 27). Washington Huskies football
Hi Henry, I noticed that you've been having some trouble with editing some things on the Washington Huskies football page. Not sure if you're a regular contributor on that page, but I've made an edit there before citing some sources about how the Huskies officially have one national championship from the AP in 1991, and added a more citations needed box. All edits were reverted, without comment by user User:Pasadena91. I tried to start a dialogue but nothing happened. (That guy, btw, blanks his user talk page once in a while). I wasn't sure what else to do in my situation. I didn't want to just revert back and forth so I just stopped since I couldn't open any lines of communication anyway. Personally, I think some admins need to get in on that page but I don't know the proper procedures to do so. That page seems to get an unusually large amount of edit warriors. Well, I'm not sure this was really any help to you, but good luck in your edits there. That article needs it. Cluskillz (talk) 00:45, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Questions about Collaboration of the Week
Hi Henryodell, I am a PhD student from the Carnegie Mellon University. I am interested in the Wikipedia community, especially the mechanism of Collaboration of the Week. I noticed that you have participated in WikiProject Oregon’s collaborations before. Could you please take several minutes to answer five questions if possible? Thanks for your help!
1. How many times (approximately) have you participated in Wikiproject Oregon's Collaboration of the Week?
2. Why did you participate in the Collaboration of the Week?
3. Do you feel you become a better editor through participating in the collaborations? If so, could you provide some examples?
4. How did Collaboration of the Week change your behaviors (if any)? What caused the changes?
5. Are you still participating Wikiproject Oregon's collaboration of the week recently? Why?
You could leave your answers either in your or my talk page if possible. Thanks for your time! We have the same goal to make Wikipedia a better place.
Cheers --Haiyizhu (talk) 21:53, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
WPORE COTW 2.0 - the picture edition
Greetings one and all. For some of you, this will be your first time receiving one of these messages, as it has been a year since the WikiProject Oregon Collaboration of the Week (COTW) was a regular thing. My hope is it gets back to being a regular thing.
Usually I would go over the past COTW, but we are basically starting out anew. So, without further adieu, this edition is our semi-annual picture drive. We usually try to do it when there is decent weather in the state, and today seems to fit the bill. Now although you are encouraged to go out and take pictures, you can also just search the internet for images that have the proper licensing and upload those. Flickr is one site that has a fair amount of content with the proper licensing (most images on Flickr are not compatible). See
Lastly, if you need to know what images we need, here are the requests. Please remove the request from the talk page if you add an image.
Finally (this is not image related), as the years have passed, we have lost many good editors, and others, like myself, are no longer in school or are working full-time or both, and thus are less active in the project. The project lives on, but it has created a bit of a power vacuum without a de facto cabal still around all the time. With that in mind, I encourage newer project members to step-up and fill some leadership type roles. Granted, we have no formal ruling junta or anything and no real defined roles, but there are many maintenance type tasks that some of us just took on to keep the project going. For instance, I ran the COTW, was pretty much the only one doing assessments, updating the portal, and even handing out the awards. I am sure others in the project can name what things they have done. The point being, that while I enjoyed those and still do some of those, I simply no longer have the free time to do all of it at a level that the project deserves. That said, I hope to start a discussion at
