I was wondering if you could spare the time for peer review this portal? The editor has been slaving away pretty much by himself and really wants input from others. I know you're busy, which makes your input, if you can manage it, so much more appreciated. :) All the best, --ROGER DAVIES talk 00:18, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re Portal:Military of Australia

Hi, I have viewed the above portal, and have noticed that it needs a little tweaks fixed up in some areas, so I thought I would contact you with my findings. Under the section "Things You Can Do" it lists two requested articles that have actually been created. An article was created on Admiral Alan Beaumont back on the 6th May, and there is an article for General Bennett (Phillip Bennett); his first name is actually spelt with two L's.

As for the new articles section, I just thought I would let you know that an article on Admiral Michael Hudson was created on the 13th June.

Thank you for taking your time out to read this, and hopefully the proper amendments can be made. Abraham, B.S. (talk) 04:15, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Moved Archive link back to right as per norm across portal"
Fair enough. Pdfpdf (talk) 14:28, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
"revert to bullets as numbers seem to indicate some order of importance which there isnt"
Not necessarily. Numbers can indicate all sorts of things. In this case it denotes the chronological order (I guess, to be precise, the reverse-chronological order), and also the length of the list at a glance, (which has been specified to be 15), without requiring manual counting. Unless you object, I'll change it back on the weekend. Pdfpdf (talk) 14:28, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I do object to any move to revert the new article bullets to numbered bullets. I do admit that my explanation in the edit summary was not thorough and though out but as you know they are meant to be brief. But I do believe that keeping bullets instead of numbers is a better outcome. The bullets make the overall portal flow better, the sections above utilise bullets, keeping consistency is important in a portal. The numbered bullets are not necessary as the article names are followed by the date of creation. Though i will alter the hidden instructions to be more descriptive and clearer as to the order.
Regards Hossen27 (talk) 13:20, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not trying to be "difficult" here; I'm just a bit confused by your response.
"I do object to any move to revert the new article bullets to numbered bullets." - Why? Other than saying: "The bullets make the overall portal flow better" (which I classify as a POV rather than an explanation), you make no attempt to answer the question. You just state your POV.
"the sections above utilise bullets" - Sorry, I don't understand. Which sections above what?
"keeping consistency is important in a portal" - Maybe. Consistency with what?
"The numbered bullets are not necessary as the article names are followed by the date of creation." - From my POV, that is a complete non-sequitur, and I have no idea what you mean.
"Though i will alter the hidden instructions to be more descriptive and clearer as to the order." - Well, I'm not sure what you mean, but I see no evidenve that you have made any such changes.

Credible author being reverted

Hello. A credible authors' reference is being "overrided" by edit-warring. I recently tried to add to the telescope article but this editor seems to think that his opinion overrides a VERY credible author in Mr. Richard Powers. I don't want this think to get to the point of an edit-war, so I'm just asking some administrators to help me. InternetHero (talk) 20:54, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I saw that you are a portal peer review volunteer. I have worked much for the improvement of my portal, but some concerns may remain:

  • Is the image at the top of the page useful and aesthetic, or should I remove or replace it ?
  • Problem with the selected biography: I contented myself with writing a short sentence as an introduction for each personality. Then I wrote the beginning of the biography, then put a link "more..." to the complete article. Is it approriate ?
  • Selected images are not of the same size. Is it really a problem ? It should be noted that free images for comics are very rare.
  • Is the presentation of the news correct ? I did not specified the exact date of each event, only the month, because I do not know it.
  • If you have any other recommendations about other aspects of the portal, do not hesitate ! It MUST become a featured portal ! Thanks. (Please reply here).--

Hi, While googling I found User:Hossen27/Australian WWII order of battle. It looks like a useful list; more useful than List of Australian divisions in World War II. It's a shame it isnt in mainspace. Did you want to add anything before it was promoted to mainspace? John Vandenberg (chat) 08:18, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File:Thomas Dodds.jpg needs authorship information

Dear uploader:

The media file you uploaded as File:Thomas Dodds.jpg appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.

It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.

Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided), authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).

  • If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which: {{

  • If this is an old image, for which the authorship is unknown or impossible to determine, please indicate this on the file description page.
