I would be glad to look it over. I have over 200 books and about 500 articles on regular Rosicrucian philosophy so surely I can find something. Do you know anything about the Medieval Academy of America. As a noted learned society, it should have a lot more than one paragraph. I will work on that next. Thank you.

Copyright problems, question
Hi. :) I'm investigated matters listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2008 July 1/Articles, and I've been looking into the article you listed, Aphanius isfahanensis. It is still a matter of concern, even if the creator asserts that he was the original author. We need to verify this. Since we don't require verification of identity at account creation, the similarity of username is insufficient to ensure that no copyright violation is taking place. I need to ask you, though, the degree to which this article violates copyright. I cannot access the source. Are you able to see it enough to assert with confident that it is a copyright violation? If so, I will need to advise the creator how to proceed with verifying permission.
I am watching your talk page, so you may respond to me here. Otherwise, if you place your response at the Copyright Problems entry, I will also see it. Thanks for any help you can give! --Moonriddengirl(talk) 12:51, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, the first paragraph is a straight cut and paste from the article abstract. Hopefully you should be able to verify this without having to have a subscription to the journal concerned.
The rest of the article is a cut and paste from a section labelled 'Diagnosis' in the original text. References to a Table and figures included in the original have been removed. Hope that's helpful. Ka Faraq Gatri (talk) 20:56, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. If it were only a few lines, we could easily rewrite those. If it involves the entire article here, then it's best to blank it pending verification of permission. --Moonriddengirl(talk) 21:24, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice
Hi,
As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.
We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.
You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!
Hello Ka Faraq Gatri. I've also left a note for you on Sunray's talk page.
Question
Hello Ka Faraq Gatri, I came across you in recent changes, and noticed that you've been doing quite a lot of vandal-reverting using the undo feature. Would you like me to grant your account
rollback rights to make vandal-reverting easier for you? Just remember that rolback should be used to revert vandalism. Tell me what you think. Thanks. Acalamari 22:48, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply

Rollback granted. :) For practice, you may wish to look at

Did you read the crap you reverted to? Not that I blame you, there was vandalism there, too, but that article was an absolute mess. I re-removed all of the garbage and have nominated it for deletion. Everard Proudfoot (talk) 23:09, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for you help in tidying up my contributions. I have undone what you did as two relevant articles were deleted in relation to relationship. I cant seem to work out how to tidy up the very bottom reference to make it sit at No5 in the reference list. I'm new granted but its baffling.[reply]
When you leave messages, please remember to "sign" your name, by putting ~~~~ (four tilde signs) at the end. This will add your name, and the date and time. You can also do this by clicking the 'sign' button, pictured to the right.
It looks like the file was deleted, so I can't check exactly what you mean - but I guess it was an 'inline reference', explained below. Cheers, Chzz ► 20:30, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How references work
Simple references
These require two parts;
a)
Chzz is 98 years old.<ref> "The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref>
He likes tea. <ref> [http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com Tea website] </ref>
b) A section called "References" with the special code "{{reflist}}";
== References ==
{{reflist}}
(an existing article is likely to already have one of these sections)
Chzz was born in 1837, <ref name="MyBook">
"The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009.
</ref> in Footown.<ref name="MyBook"/>
Note that the second usage has a / (and no closing ref tag). This needs a reference section as above; please see user:chzz/demo/namedref to see the result.
Citation templates
You can put anything you like between <ref> and </ref>, but using citation templates makes for a neat, consistent look;
Chzz has 37 Olympic medals. <ref> {{Citation
| last = Smith
| first = John
| title = Olympic medal winners of the 20th century
| publication-date = 2001
| publisher = [[Cambridge University Press]]
| page = 125
| isbn = 0-521-37169-4
}}
</ref>
Hi,
I've found a picture on another wiki that I think would enhance our cartilage and chondrocyte articles. The bottom of the wiki page says that the content is available under CC BY-SA 3.0 but there's no actual permissions listed on the picture itself. Can I download this and upload it to Commons or do I need to contact the editors of that wiki? If I can upload it straight to Commons, what do I put as the source of the picture? Image is here
Thanks. Ka Faraq Gatri (talk) 11:14, 10 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds like a good solution to me. :) Ka Faraq Gatri (talk) 21:15, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, while I'm at it, the same editor who created Batman Incorporated altered a redirect, Batman: The Dark Knight into an article about another upcoming comic. I changed that one back to a redirect for the same reasons that I PRODed Batman Incorporated but I'm now wondering if that was a wise thing.... Ka Faraq Gatri (talk) 21:41, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
To be honest, BI sounds like it's going to have a specific flavour - the original Batman recruiting/drafting international counter parts - where Batman: The Dark Knight reads as "yet another standard Bat-book". There is potential for BI to need a separate article, but BTDK needs to establish it needs something other than yet another Bat-plot-dump article. So I've got no problem with Batman: The Dark Knight staying a redirect until then. (There's also what to do with the stuff already linke to the redirect...) - J Greb (talk) 21:58, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Non-English Additions
{{helpme}}
I've noticed that user:Shixunci is adding what looks like a Chinese? translation? to the article Global Handwashing Day. I dropped a note on their talk page to ask them to write in English and to suggest that they might also like to consider to contributing to the appropriate language version of wikipedia. They've continued to add non-English text to the article. I'm concerned that they may not have understood my note. Is there somewhere I can ask for someone to drop a note to them in their language? Ka Faraq Gatri (talk) 11:37, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The user has already been blocked.
I have, however, added a link to the Chinese Wikipedia help page, for info on getting started there.
You are right, he was just adding translations of the existing text, not new material. I left him a message explaining that he can add that to the Chinese article instead. rʨanaɢ (talk) 13:13, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
ESPN.com is reporting that rumours of the death of Andy Irons have been confirmed [1]. The story is being run on a couple of news sites which appear to be feeding off the ESPN information. We've got well meaning people editing the article accordingly. Is this sufficient coverage to tag the article as a recent death or do we need to wait for a bit more confirmation? I've tagged the article anyway. Hopefully it's not too early on. Ka Faraq Gatri (talk) 23:07, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New page patrolling
Hello, Ka Faraq Gatri. I just wanted to stop by to thank you for your help with the vital work of patrolling new pages, and ask if you might make sure to "mark" pages as patrolled by clicking the 'mark this page as patrolled' link at the bottom of the new page after you've done checking the article. This saves time and work by informing fellow patrollers of your review of the page, so that they do not duplicate efforts. Thanks! Skomorokh 09:32, 29 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Will do. I don't drop in to new page patrol very often. I think that was the only one I looked at so I don't think many articles got looked at twice. Ka Faraq Gatri (talk) 11:17, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merger of Llandudno Lifeboat page with Llandudno
Hi, Have consulted a few local people and the feeling is that the llandudno Lifeboat page should not be merged. Llandudno as a town is pushing itself commercially and quite a few entries appear to be driven by commercial interest rather than presenting facts and information IMO. The lifeboat is historical in it's own right, totally uncommerical (run by a charity with zero governmental or commercial sponsorship) and the people who support it are all volunteers. There is intention to build up a historical account of Llandudno Lifeboat over the past 150 years outlining the high numbers of lives saved and rescues undertaken and including the injuries and fatalities to crew and helpers. Llandudno as a town should obviously link to this page, as should the RNLI and some of the boats (such as the Mersea link already added). Please leave this as an entry in it's own right. Also, many thanks for your editing and adding of further information, it has really added to the entry123bedofroses (talk) 12:42, 18 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Deletion of Orde of Thelemic Knights
Hello:
My name is Gerald del Campo. I am the CEO of The Order of Thelemic Knights, which apparently had a page on Wikipedia that was taken down in 2011. I have just become aware of this.
On the deletion page some one noted that our non-profit, tax-exempt organization is a "blatant hoax" as if the organization didn't exist. As the CEO of this organization, which works along side of The Red Cross and *many* other charities, I take exception to this (as would the IRS) as it doesn't appear as though the editors who reviewed the page took much care in researching it. Furthermore, there are articles on Wikipedia itself that reference pages written by our members on our website. We also do a fair bit of publishing, which can be verified with a quick search on Amazon.com - we are listed as a non-profit organization by the Oregon Secretary of State, where our headquarters resides. Quite frankly, I am disappointed that an organization that does the sort of work we do would be so easily blown off by your editors with so little research. The subject matter "Thelema" is subject to great political bias and manipulation by some Wikipedia editors who are members of a supposed competing organization. If you allow that sort of manipulation to continue, Wikipedia will no longer be a source of unbiased factual information.
I am asking you to reconsider reversing the decision to delete, and perhaps spend a little time understanding the sort of work that we have done, and continue to do for the greater good in the name of our chosen spiritual paradigm. If I have not followed the procedure to contest deletions properly, I must apologize in advance for not understanding the way Wikipedia works.
Please contact me with any questions you might have. I could even arrange a phone call if you prefer.
Sincerely,
Gerald del Campo
