Submission about TINA.org

Hi, thank you for your consideration and comments. There is a CT.com article cited in the first paragraph that is about the organization (as opposed to being a mention of its work or comments), and CT.com is an independent news organization owned by Tribune - a major national and regional news organization. Does that address your request about having one independent article about the organization?

There is also the Fox Business interview segment, which is about the organization and its role as a whole, and just begins with its latest news at that time. Currently I have that citation within the discussion of one of TINA.org's investigations, but if it would be helpful, I could add that citation to the opening paragraph as well.

There is one other news report on I'm aware of on WSJ Radio about the organization itself, which I did not include and I could add that up top if it would help; I did not do so initially as I thought it would be redundant, but perhaps I erred on that. Any additional guidance sincerely appreciated. Thanks again. RayPellecchia (talk) 15:31, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. It looks like I may have missed something in my review. I will try to find time again soon to take another look. Please add the WSJ Radio source and resubmit. No need to move sources around unless it improves the article to do so. ~KvnG 15:50, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

OK, I have resubmitted. I added the WSJ Radio source; please note, the original link to the story on WCBS-AM's website appears to be broken, and I've notified that site. In the interim I linked to the same report as it appears on TINA.org's site. You can see for yourself that the report is real; that's Joe Connolly's voice and original report for sure. When and if WCBS fixes the original, I'll replace the TINA link with the WCBS link. I also added the Fox Business TV report as a source for the first sentence of the article, which it truly does support. I hope you can accept the article as amended; if not, please let me know what else I can do. Thanks again for your constructive comments and responsiveness. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RayPellecchia (talkcontribs) 17:07, 14 January 2014 (UTC) (Beg pardon, I forgot the signature.) MarcBoyerONERA (talk) 07:56, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

MarcBoyerONERA, My objection was primarily to your "also known as Packet-by-packet Generalized Processor Sharing or Packetised Generalized Processor Sharing (PGPS)" addition. It tangled things with Generalized processor sharing and made it unclear what the article is about. ~KvnG 01:17, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

Neutrolin article

I'm trying to get this article on Neutrolin published because I believe it's a very significant advance in medicine that has not been sufficiently recognized. My most recent version was rejected because it did not follow the general guideline on notability. However, 5 out of the 6 references I cite are completely independent of the product or the company. They are studies done by independent investigators, in most cases, in academic settings. These sources are so independent that they do not even name the drug product anywhere in the article. I do not understand why this simple, straightforward article is being rejected on these grounds.

Thank you.

Markak1515 (talk) 05:31, 29 January 2014 (UTC)markak1515

My comment with this review was that the potentially
notable topic at this point here is the taurolidine-citrate lock solution or somesuch, not the Neutrolin brand name. ~KvnG
13:14, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
That's fine, but the brand name is somewhat important. If you start talking to someone about a taurolidine-citrate lock solution it means nothing to them. If you talk about a product they can buy and use, then it takes on meaning. If I were writing an article about Coca Cola would you want me to call it phosphoric acid-corn syrup solution?

Markak1515 (talk) 15:37, 29 January 2014 (UTC)markak1515

To accept the article, we need to establish notability of the topic. The topic of the proposed article is the brand. ~KvnG 16:41, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

I guess we are at an impasse then, because Neutrolin IS the topic of the article. Yes it is a brand, but I don't see why that is relevant. There is a Wikipedia page for Coca Cola, Enbrel, Nike, for almost any brand you can think of in any industry. I can't very well write an article entitled "catheter lock solutions that contain citrate, heparin, and taurolidine." That would be like writing an article on Enbrel with a title that lists the entire formulation buffer of the drug. Honestly, I used to donate to Wikipedia and believed in the cause. My experience with this article is that editors just put up as many roadblocks as possible, most of which are not valid and just waste everyone's time. I'm done re-writing the article so you can either do your job and approve it as a valuable and impartial contribution to the encyclopedia or you can drop it. If you drop it, it's on you and this little nugget of knowledge (that could actually save someone's life) will be lost.

Markak1515 (talk) 02:38, 30 January 2014 (UTC)markak1515

We are not stuck. Here are some options for you.
  1. You resubmit the article as is and another reviewer will have a look at it in due course
  2. I can post something to
    Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Articles_for_creation/Reviewer_help
requesting a review of my review
  3. You can revise the article and resubmit and another reviewer will have a look at it in due course
  4. You can copy the article to main space, bypassing
    deletion process
I'm happy to help you with any of these. Let me know how you'd like to proceed. ~KvnG 02:59, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Start frame delimiter article

Hello there! Regarding your edit on the

Start frame delimiter article, I'd say it is important to clearly and completely describe the SFD's position and relation to Ethernet packets and frames. If someone is interested in the SFD, falling at the same time into 0.05% of the human population interested in such things, he/she is probably also interested in its exact position. There is a backlog of over 2400 articles, so start reviewing articles! Visit the drive's page and help out!

Hello Kvng, thanks so much for your review - I know it's been crazy trying to clear the backlog! As per your review, I have responded to possibly merging the page with the bipolar disorder in children page: please see my comments here. As you will see, I have suggested for the page to stay as a standalone page with links to the pediatric bipolar disorder page.

I had a question though: it looks like the editor page does not seem to be very active, and I really do want to push this project along. What do I do with my submission? I'd really like to have it not deleted... spent hours on all of this! :) Let me know what I can do to move this forward... Ongmianli (talk) 23:01, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

AfC submissions are subject to deletion 6 months after they are last edited. My understanding is that you will be warned before it is deleted. You are also welcome to keep a copy of your submission as a
WP:USERSUBPAGE. ~KvnG
23:18, 26 February 2014 (UTC)
Thanks so much for the quick response! Assuming that editor response on the bipolar disorder in children page is poor, how do I go about revising and resubmitting my page? That being said, I sure don't want to be wasting another editor's time! Let me know your thoughts! Ongmianli (talk) 20:35, 27 February 2014 (UTC)
You just make any changes you think are necessary and hit the Resubmit button at the top of the page. After it works its way through the backlog, another editor will look at it for you. If you don't have the patience for that, you have the option to bypass
the teahouse and seek help. ~KvnG
15:55, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the detailed and thoughtful comments on how to move this forward! Yes, I don't want to be wasting any editor's time - and want to do anything I can to make sure this makes the article space without being deleted. I will check out the Teahouse and see what I can do. Thanks again - you're doing a wonderful job! Ongmianli (talk) 08:36, 2 March 2014 (UTC)

Question/Feedback/Help Request

Hi. You recently reviewed and declined my article on the military cyber professionals association and cited a lack of 3rd party references and provided me a link that explains what those are. I followed the link and it said that good independent 3rd party sources include articles by journalists as part of their reporting work. I'm not sure if you noticed, but my article includes 3 separate press articles about this nonprofit, including note of its significance. This is not my first contribution and I'm beginning to feel as though my article is being unfairly treated because some people think people in the military are bad. I kindly ask you to take another look at it and please help me with rewording or any kind of editing suggestions. However, the significance of the organization has been noted by 3 press articles independent of the organization. Please be a good person and help :)

Help with an article about Verizon?

Hello Kvng, I found your name listed as a member of WikiProject:Telcom and I'm wondering if you might be able to help me with something. I'm an employee of

Verizon Communications
, and looking to improve that article. Because of my conflict of interest, I don't make any edits to article directly. Instead, I propose language on the Talk page, and ask volunteer editors to look at what I've written and, if it looks okay, move the material over into the article.

I recently drafted a new version of the "History" section for the Verizon Communications article and

Talk:Verizon
detailing what I'd done in my draft, but so far, I've had trouble finding an editor who is able to help. Do you think you might be able to take a look at what I've done and, if it all looks okay, move it over into the article?

I realize the section is quite long, so I'm also happy to work through it with you and other editors section by section if you have any questions or concerns. Do you think you might be able to help?

Reviewing some reverts

Hi, Thank you for reviewing my changes to linear systems https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Linear_system&oldid=prev&diff=607022811 However I think the current version is really confusion. You reverted the changes based on the idea that I was introducing a different y(t). But that is not the case if you look at the two equations that use y_1 and y_2. If you think the linear spring as the linear system, then these y_1 and y_2 are the applied forcesand that was exactly the y(t) I introduced. Additionally the condition "Letting y(t) = 0" is completely unnecessary and indeed confusing... What is the output then? if it is supposed to be always 0? The spring viewed as a input out linear system int he way the example wants to show it is indeed a system that maps trajectories (inputs) into forces (outputs). In this sense I think my explanation is far more consistent that the current one. Can we have an explanation that rescue the best of both versions?

Thanks Kakila (talk) 16:43, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

I have posted a copy of this to Talk:Linear_system#Reviewing_some_reverts. Hopefully we can resolve the issue there. ~KvnG 13:46, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

Faiz Aftab

Thank you for your note. I have removed the prod tag, since, as a former first-class cricketer, Aftab passes WP:BIO. Bobo. 23:21, 18 May 2014 (UTC)

OK. It would be good to add some
reliable sources to the article then remove the {{Notability}} tag. Otherwise this is likely to happen again. ~KvnG

Dear Kvng,

you accepted my article Daig (Switzerland) via AfC and rated it as Start-Class at the time. It has been expanded significantly in the meantime. Leaflet For Wikiproject Computing At Wikimania 2014

Hi Kvng,

I noticed that you and others started work on a leaflet for Wikiproject computing that we would show at Wikimania 2014. If you (or anybody over at Wikiproject Computing) are still interested in doing this, then the deadline to submit your leaflet is 1st July 2014.

Kind regards,

Hello, Kvng! In January you made some improvements to the above draft article, but unfortunately another user copy-pasted the unimproved text to mainspace (Akari Endo). Would you consider doing the same fix on the mainspace article? Your version is better, but I don't want to do it myself for reasons of attribution. —Anne Delong (talk) 03:53, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

Safaa Fathy article: references for notability

Good evening Kvng and thanks for reviewing the article i submitted. You asked for more independent references to the subject of the article, other than her books and films. Would these references besuitable? They either speak exclusively of Fathy's work or discuss it in the context of that of other people's.

Thanks for your help

@
WP:AUTHOR. There are specific and more rigorous notability requirements for authors documented on that page and I did not believe this submission met those requirements. The references currently in the article merely demonstrate that she's a published author with a body of work. It is not clear to me that these new references go beyond that but I encourage you to add them to the article and resubmit it. Don't be afraid of it being rejected and don't take it personally if it is. ~KvnG

The errors you stated previously have been cleaned up and quite a bit of the content was removed to make the page better. I have used pages from our peers as a reference such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_F._Harrah_College_of_Hotel_Administration https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornell_University_School_of_Hotel_Administration https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michigan_State_University_School_of_Hospitality_Business https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hilton_College_of_Hotel_and_Restaurant_Management

Please look at the page and make recommendations. This is the first page I have submitted and I am trying my best to follow the Wikipedia guidelines.

8 August 2014: We lack (and need) a succinct answer to what must be added/changed to this material to address the "notability" and/or other issues cited for the rejection. I should point out that we do have several references listed, and I am giving a paper on the subject at the IT3 (International Thermal Treatment Technology) Conference October 14/15 in Baltimore, MD.
