Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on

section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify
their content.

Disambiguation link notification for July 8

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Royal New Zealand Air Force, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages National Government and Labour Government. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi, I've reverted your edits to this article as the unit is still listed as being active on the RNZAF website [1], [2]. Could you please provide a reference which says its been disbanded? Thanks, Nick-D (talk) 22:57, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, This unit still appears active, with a news story reporting on it earlier this year. As such, I've reverted your changes stating that it was disbanded, and added that reference to the CFS article. Nick-D (talk) 23:34, 23 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Three things

Hi, I'd like to raise three things with you:

  • First, and most importantly, I've noticed that on a few occasions you've repeatedly reverted the changes other people have made to your editing (for instance in the
    edit warring
, and is impolite given that Wikipedia is based around consensus-based editing. When it is sustained it can lead to you being blocked from editing. Please start discussions on article talk pages when changes you made are reverted and you want to advocate for them.
  • Secondly, it's also considered good form to use
    edit summaries
, especially when making lots of changes, though they're not compulsory. This helps other editors understand your changes.
  • Thirdly, please take the time to read the instructions for the military unit infobox at Template:Infobox military unit. The purpose of the allegiance field is "to indicate the allegiance of units which are not part of the regular armed forces of a sovereign state", and not to list the ceremonial links between British Commonwealth military units and the Queen. The use of non-essential images such as flags and ensigns in infoboxes is also discouraged (as this leads to visual clutter for no gain), and there's no need to say that the size of squadron-sized units is/was a squadron as this is obvious.

I appreciate that the learning curve for Wikipedia can be a bit steep, and I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have on the above. Regards, Nick-D (talk) 10:57, 14 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Royal New Zealand Air Force. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. - FOX 52 (talk) 06:41, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Also, stop edit warring obviously incorrect uses of the Military unit infobox into articles. You will be reported, and be blocked, if this continues. I'd also encourage you to make use of article talk pages and edit summaries. Nick-D (talk) 08:42, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

For your reference, the documentation for the template is at
WT:MILHIST rather than your endless edit warring. Nick-D (talk) 08:46, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply

WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this: |image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]], instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do: |image=SomeImage.jpg. There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recetly added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks!! NZDF colours

Hi, Could you please provide references establishing that the various units of the NZDF have official colours? I can't find anything on Google confirming this. Also, in case you have been conducting this editing using IP accounts and this account, please note that such conduct is strongly discouraged. Nick-D (talk) 10:58, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop edit warring this in without reference. As noted on my talk page, if RNAF units have official colours, please provide sources to support this. You have been blocked for this kind of edit warring previously, and please don't go down the same path. Nick-D (talk) 11:31, 7 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
