Keith Jefferson moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Keith Jefferson. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Schminnte (talk contribs) 16:38, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Schminnte Yeah no I messed up. I meant to make it a draft. I apologize. Pac-Man PHD (talk) 16:52, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine, it's a more common error than you might think. Best regards, Schminnte (talk contribs) 16:53, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Video link on Sonny Liston and Mike Tyson

Hi, I just wanted to make sure you understood why I replaced the video link in these articles. The first YouTube source used appeared to hide information about who produced and owns the copyright to the content, including chopping off the beginning that identified it was from

A&E Biography. I changed to a second source that openly disclosed this info. I also completed the quote, verbatim. Wikipedia takes a dim view of copyright violation, and so I think that behooves us to not aid in such, even if at other websites. Stefen Towers among the rest! No worries. I wasn't sure what URL to provide nor was I sure how to credit Mr. Wepner for the quote. Thank you for improving my edit! Pac-Man PHD (talk) 07:30, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Some information about infoboxes for the unfamiliar

I noticed you recently discovered the situation with the featured article lacking an infobox and wanted to give some context you might not be aware of:

  1. there is a long-standing civil war between users who support infoboxes and users who strongly oppose them. There is no sensible reason for this war anymore, infoboxes are the undisputed norm, it’s just entrenchment at this point.
  2. the composers wikiproject is controlled primarily (but not exclusively) by the latter faction. Do not accuse relevant users of ownership, this will get you nowhere and make them extremely angry.
  3. certain other article groups are also under de facto control by a single user in the latter camp. Once again, absolutely do not accuse such users of ownership.
  4. the only way you can change the current status quo on these articles is the Wikipedia:Requests for comment process. This isn’t a rule but it’s virtually impossible to change them otherwise for reasons too complicated and sensitive to explain at length, and almost always works. However, using this method carries the risk of being dubbed an “infobox warrior” trying to “force” an infobox onto the article.
  5. systematically trying to RfC infoboxes into articles is a bad idea because it outright confirms you’re an “infobox warrior” willing to abuse process.
  6. this whole topic area is extremely contentious (as in Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee contentious) and should be treated with caution, especially around users who have strong opinions on the topic and especially around the opposers for reasons that should be obvious.
  7. yes I am considered an “infobox warrior” at this point. However I’m not trying to
    Wikipedia:Canvass
    you in any way, I’m telling you “things I wish I’d known before entering this particular discussion”.

I hope you find these pointers helpful. Dronebogus (talk) 20:03, 11 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
