Women in Red

Hi there, PlantPoet, and welcome to Women in Red. It's always good to have members from WP Edu. I see you have already created a biography of Pamela Gunter-Smith and hope there will be many more. If you haven't already done so, you might find it useful to look through some of our essays, perhaps starting with the Primer. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 13:02, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Women in Red 8th Anniversary

Women in Red 8th Anniversary
In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Join us for some virtual cake and add comments or memories and please keep on editing to close the gap!

Great work on
Lillian V. Holdeman Moore

Dear PlantPoet,

I ran into the article

Lillian V. Holdeman Moore
from your Teahouse post. It's a great start for someone who is quite new to Wikipedia, and I thank you for your efforts! You should be proud of yourself for such a good start.

If you don't mind some more advice, you may wish to add in-line citations to sentences such as She was married to fellow microbiologist and colleague "Ed" W.E.C. Moore and Later, Holdeman studied bacteria that cause periodontal disease and other oral bacteria.

Again, great work and happy editing! -- TheLonelyPather (talk) 21:07, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

PlantPoet, it's wonderful that you nominated this article at DYK, however it is important that you respond soon if you wish this nomination to be successful. In five more days, it will be a month since the above request was posted, and the nomination could be closed as abandoned if you don't post there by then. Please stop by as soon as you see this. Thank you very much, and best of luck. BlueMoonset (talk) 19:51, 17 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I apologize! The first weeks of the semester threw me some curve balls. The relvant page in the book is 51 but I don't know how to add it to the citation. PlantPoet (talk) 17:35, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
HI! I apologize, the first month of the semester knocked me down hard. I have made the requested edits--the page number in the book for reference #3 and corrected the bacterial numbers as suggested.
What next? (Again, thank you from this newbie!)
PlantPoet (talk) 17:45, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
PlantPoet, there have been additional "citation needed" tags added to the article since you made your greatly appreciated updates. Please add the new citations as soon as possible, so the DYK nomination can proceed; ping me when you're done. Thank you very much. BlueMoonset (talk) 03:42, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I added them! thank you for your patience! the semester got busier than I could handle. PlantPoet (talk) 18:52, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
PlantPoet, sorry things have been so busy. However, the reviewer says there are three more citations left to do; when I look, I see one at the end of each of the paragraphs up top, and one at the end of the first paragraph in the Career section, and they're all needed. I hope you can take care of these remaining ones soon. Thank you! BlueMoonset (talk) 22:32, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I'm learning so much from this group of very patient editors! I have included the citations. But there are two seeming errors that say "cite book" and "cite journal" ...I'm looking at the help pages trying to resolve that problem. The one citation is from Bergy's Manual of Bacteria which is a huge reference book--that everyone uses online these days. Not sure how to fix that citation. (I'm asking the wiki-editor whose workshop I took for assistance.) PlantPoet (talk) 13:26, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
