Three days ago you warned BillyKeys (talk · contribs) of an indef block if he vandalised again; today he created a nonsense article and put a lot of rubbish into North Queensland, so I have delivered on your threat. It's a pity that so much energy can't be put to some use, but it doesn't look as if he's able to learn what Wikipedia is about. I think he may be a sock of WorldWider12 (talk · contribs), who has a similar record and had a 48-hr block on 29 November. BillyKeys was created on 1 Dec, and Worldwider12 hasn't edited since 5 Dec. Ron, I'm not sure if I agree with the move (IMHO it should remain pluralized as that is the common form of the term) so I went ot see if the move request had been posted to the page or if I simply missed it with the holiday season. Unfortunately, I can't see the article history. Neither the article nor the talk page history have been left entact. Do you know how to fix their histories?---Balloonman ^{NO! No idea - not quite my field of expertise - It was flagged as a copyvio CSD, so I went to delete it as a CSD, but saw the ticket, and therefore had to refuse. The ORTS ticket just says that the web site owner had given permission (by e-mail) for the web page contents to be used. It does not imply that the content is suitable as a Article page. There's a lot of text there, and could use a serious clean up or maybe even delete. I don't see it as anything for CSD. There's a real lack of references, it may well be non notable - maybe you would like to consider

I didn't realize that a discussion had been open. I thought as though I was making a reasonable edit to the page. As far as the validity of the references for the singing tesla coil article, please take the time to research this in google to find time stamped articles on the subject that are in fact older, this is a matter that I am certain of. The Singing Tesla Coil is a very real device, and shouldn't be disallowed a wikipedia article purely on the fact that the oldest referring articles in existence on the subject come from CNET, which in itself is a highly reliable news source that is recognized by many outfits. Jhbut's disputes on the ArcAttack wiki page had merit, but I have made all the corrections that were suggested, and have created an article that properly satisfies the criteria for a wikipedia article based on the notability requirements set forth by wikipedia for a performance group. Also, having the "feeling" which Jhbut has stated, that the articles do not merit notability or reliable sources shouldn't merit a dispute in this fashion. I request that any further contesting on his behalf is backed up with factual information, and time stamped articles that are in fact from more reliable sources that those provided by me, and show contrary information. I think we have a few editors who edit primarily religious topics with usernames that proclaim their faith, whichever it is. That is not a policy violation. And we generally apply username blocks only to new users. A username that has edited for a long time is presumed to be permitted by community consensus (and believe me, every single new username gets scrutinized). Hi there. JHBUK's edit of the TriBattery Pops, which was carried out, due to copyright is incorrect and you should reverse it. CD Baby holds no copyright on the out of print Daily News article which was used by the TriBattery Pops with permission of its editor, Dawn Eden for multiple web quotes. In other words, the long out of print Daily News article is now a part of the TriBattery Pops promotion and you should not have simply deleted it.

Please revise.

There is little point in restoring material that has text that matches other web sites - it will certainly be seen by other editors as a copyright violation and re-tagged again and again. I tried to save the page by just removing the copied material - it's still there in the history. I would suggest that you either re-write the material, or see

WP:COPYREQ for details on how to obtain permission - once permission is granted, then the ORTS result can be placed on the article's talk page to show other editors that the data is not breaching copyright.  Ronhjones  ^(Talk)

I concede that an article on the Delta Chi Association (the alumni arm of the Chapter) is not necessary, but I would like to go forward with an article on the chapter. I have prepared a text that follows in this message. All sources for the material are cited. I note that Wikipedia carries many articles on specific clubs and societies in American universities. The "Dartmouth College Greek organizations" article provides subarticles on the individual Greek-letter chapters. "Eating club (Princeton University)" links to separate articles on the five bicker clubs and the five non-selective clubs in Princeton The secret honor societies of Cornell University have articles, i.e. "Sphinx Head" and "Quill and Dagger." There are individual articles on six of the eight final clubs at Harvard University. Yale University's societies, e.g. Skull and Bones" well are represented. In other words, I see ample precedent for an article on a specific college club. You will note that there is sufficient historical significance cited to warrant an article. The Delta Chi Chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon (ΔX of ΔKE) is an undergraduate social fraternity for men at Cornell University.

• The Chapter has functioned without interruption since its charter was granted by the Phi Chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon (Φ of ΔKE) at Yale University on February 11, 1870.
• The Chapter’s lodge, known as the Deke House, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on 11 January 1991. The marble veneered building, erected in 1893 and expanded in 1910, was designed by William Henry Miller in the Romanesque style.

Historical Significance

The historic importance of this fraternity chapter derives from four attributes:

1. the intent of its founders and architectural mentors for the Chapter to take on the role of an Oxbridge style college within an American university setting;
2. the exceptional political and martial traditions of its membership as evidenced by the many memorials preserved in the Chapter’s lodge;
3. the leading role played by Delta Kappa Epsilon in the Secret society movement at Cornell University (c. 1870-1930); and
4. the number of members who achieved distinction in public life and commerce while maintaining close ties to the undergraduate establishment in Ithaca throughout their careers.

Noteworthy Events

Noteworthy events in the Chapter’s history include the following.

• U.S. President Rutherford B. Hayes became an honorary member of Delta Kappa Epsilon in 1877 following the initiation of his three sons in the Delta Chi Chapter of DKE: Birchard Austin Hayes '74, James Webb Cook Hayes '76 (both initiated on October 7, 1873) and Rutherford Platt Hayes '80 (initiated on October 13, 1876).

• New York State Governor Theodore Roosevelt, a Deke from the Harvard College chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon (A of ΔKE), visited the Chapter on 20 June 1899 and planted two Norway Spruce trees to commemorate the memory of Brother Clifton Beckwith Brown ’00 who had been killed in the Battle of San Juan Hill on July 1, 1898.

• The chapter was an active member of the Star League, the five leading secret societies at Cornell during the nineteenth century: Zeta Psi (founded 1868), Kappa Alpha Society (1868), Alpha Delta Phi (1869), Delta Kappa Epsilon (1870) and Psi Upsilon (1876). This consortium that cooperated to varying degrees with respect to social affairs, intramural athletics and rush, eventually became the Big Six with the addition of Chi Psi (1869).

• The Chapter’s lodge was used to house a contingent of the Student Army Training Corps during World War I. This militarization of the lodge was repeated during World War II when a U.S. Marine Corps element was undergoing training with the V-12 Navy College Training Program.

• Delta Chi Brother
  Mario Garcia Menocal III '88, the third President of the Republic of Cuba, invited the members of Delta Kappa Epsilon to hold their 76th DKE Convention in Havana
  . This assembly convened in December 1920. The Delta Chi Chapter of the fraternity was represented by a delegation of fifteen brothers. The convention elected Delta Chi Brother Stephen Byrd Horrell '21 to preside in the office of Convention President.

The overt motto is “Μή δοκεῖν ἀλλ᾽ εἶναι,” or in Roman transliteration, “Me Dokein All Einai,” meaning “Not to seem, but to be.” The phrase is taken from line 592 in the 467 B.C. play,

Charter, Governance and Tax Status

Charter

The Chapter was chartered by the Phi Chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon (Φ of ΔKE) at Yale College, New Haven CT, on 11 February 1870 with an inaugural dinner held at the Clinton House on that date. Brother James Julius Chambers '70 (1850 - 1920) served as the Chapter's first president. The Chapter was subsequently incorporated in the State of [New York] as the Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity at Cornell University, Inc., on 5 November 1883 "for the purpose of mental, moral and social improvement." The Certificate of Incorporation was filed with the Tompkins County Clerk on 7 November 1883 and with the New York Secretary of State on 8 November 1883.

Governance

The undergraduate organization (1) operates a fraternal association, (2) manages a residence facility, (3) runs a dining service, and (4) conducts social entertainments for the benefit of its active members and alumni. The Chapter is organized and governed in accordance with Chapter Bylaws that were last revised and ratified on 29 January 2009. In addition, members are bound by the provisions of subordinate House Rules that govern conduct, discipline, decorum and other such matters.

Federal and State Tax Status

The Chapter is a tax exempt public charity in accordance with Title 26 U.S.C. (Internal Revenue Code) §501(c)7 per a group ruling letter issued to the Delta Kappa Epsilon Council in January 1943. The chapter is recognized as a "not for profit" corporation by the New York State's Division of Corporation Records in a letter dated 23 April 1987.

Historical Resources

DKE Depository

The records, correspondence, publications and selected artifacts of the Chapter are held in the DKE Depository (Collection #37-4-1535) maintained by the Cornell University Library's Rare and Manuscript Collections Department under terms set forth in a formal Memorandum of Understanding dated 29 February 1988 and executed on 4 March 1988. The Depository holds the original 1870 Charter. Black & white and color photographic images of this document are filed as N4279 and N4317, respectively. A replacement charter, also held in the ΔKE Depository, was issued by the Sixty-Second ΔKE Convention held at Hartford CT, 12-13 November 1908. Black & white and color photographic images are filed as N4280 and N4318, respectively.

Publications

The chapter publishes The Delta Chi Deke newsletter (ISSN #0895-5255, registered on 10 September 1987 with the Library of Congress National Serials Data Program) under the direction of an undergraduate editor and distributes same to all alumni and friends of Delta Chi. Back issues dating from Volume I, Number 1 (May 1935), are held in the DKE Depository.

Chapter House and Grounds

The 13 South Avenue property (City of Ithaca tax parcel #31-1-10) and the lodge thereon known as the Deke House (Cornell Facility #4719) are owned by Cornell University. The lodge has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places managed by the U. S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service, since 11 January 1991 consequent to a petition filed by The Delta Chi Association on 20 August 1988. The lodge has also been listed on the New York State Register of Historic Places managed by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, since 3 December 1990 as a result of a collateral petition filed on 25 September 1988. The Deke House was designated as a Local Landmark in accordance with the City of Ithaca Landmarks Preservation Ordinance by unanimous approval of the City of Ithaca Common Council on 15 January 2003. I see you applied a {{move draft}} template - that relies on normal editors to look at the page and decide on whether to move it or not, there is quite a backlog here (this work is not done by admins - it doesn't show up on the admin backlog).
I think that a better plan is to post a message at

WP:FEED

- I think you will get a faster response. When the page is ready to be moved (I don't think so yet - see below), then you can either

1. Set up a
   requested move
   OR
2. Move it yourself - at the top of every page is a "move" tab, just click that and enter a new name for that page, then click the "move Page" box on that page - and it will be moved.

Current status of page - I will remove the {{move draft}} for you, as someone may see it and decide to set it for deletion! - It needs to have more references - in particular in-line references are absent. Hello -

I have been creating an article on Joel Iskowitz, which is still in sandbox form. I had uploaded an image given to me by the artist - the file is Iskowitz_SL_stamp_Scott_589.jpg - and I had limited license granted by the artist. The edit history of the image shows that you deleted it with the code "F3: Media file with improper license."

I've now replaced the image with my own original scan from a stamp I purchased, and have granted free public use - no claims of copyright - for the image.

I left the file name the same - not sure if that was a good idea or not - but I'm not clear about how it can be shown again on my sandbox, which I wish to publish ASAP.

Richard Kastle

You have probably seen the Speedy Deletion message on the Richard Kastle talk page but I haven't seen one reaction at all. Therefore a message or a vote one way or the other is lacking. Richard Kastle is a wannabe pianist, unknown beyond his extremely limited viewing on youtube.

He now plays Holiday Inns and nursing homes for free.

His attempts to play the piano are a joke to any serious pianist.

Unfortunately, so few view his wikipedia article to justify the normal deletion process by vote.

Juri Koll is the only present editor of the Kastle article, and has caused immeasurable damage to the talk pages of other editors such as User Prof.rick, who, as a final measure had to delete his own talk page.

PLEASE, look into the Richard Kastle page and decide fairly if its presence in wikipedia can possibly be justified.

Why does Juri Koll claim to be the creator of this article while the page history indicates that Mike Caffey created the article? I suspect sock puppetry, probably conducted by Kastle himself. I therfore URGE a thorough investigation of the article by wikipedia administrators.

Because we have not got a crystal ball to know why an editor is deleting material from an article - that's the function of the edit summary, when left blank, we have to make up our own minds (and large deletes, with no summary are 99.9% vandalism). Where do I start...

1. It was tagged for speedy deletion as a hoax by User:Simon-in-sagamihara
2. It was not laid out as per
   Manual of style
3. There was not a single reference to back it up - therefore it was always likely to be deleted, articles must be
   notable
   to survive.

To help you proceed with editing I will..

1. Move the deleted article into your user space - it will be found at User:Loggy616/Mgem, when I finished doing it.
2. I'll add a standard welcome template to your talk page, which has many useful links to Wikipedia policies, to assist you in ensuring that your page will be suitable.

When you have finished your page, then all you need to do is move the page.

Just find a good reference (on the web, or a text book, etc. - but no blog sites, as they are written by anybody), and add that data with your edit by adding <ref>Reference Details</ref> after it - for correct formatting of the reference details, see the page at

Hello there, I would like to officially protest and dispute the facts in the article. The sources are provably incorrect on this subject.

This vessel is claimed by Iran to be a destroyer however it is smaller and less well armed than virtually every other modern destroyer on the planet today.

In fact it is smaller and less well armed than most modern frigates in existence such as the Meko 200, Meko 360, Kortenaer and many more.

Also someone incorrectly added that it is a guided missile destroyer which is a gross exaggeration and mis-characterization and is not in any way supported by the sources cited such as Fox News or CNN or Businessweek.

I have been studying military history for nearly 30 years and have verified from 3 original sources that the designation is incorrect by modern standards.

If you look carefully, I changed nothing overall. I had a problem with

I must say I am truly baffled by your decision not to move

about the proposed move. It also goes against what I see as a clear pattern on Wikipedia of not having redirects as primary topics. I am also somewhat concerned about the way you stated to have reached the conclusion not move the page, by a simple google search. Because if you look through the pages of the hits you get by searching for "up in the air" book -wikipedia you will see that a lot of them actually are about the movie. Also as it was brought up in the discussion about the move, the article about the book Up in the Air was actually created because of the movie, which might indicate that the book on its own was not even notable enough to have been included on Wikipedia had it not been for the movie.

I must admit, I am not too familiar with rules about what an administrator on Wikipedia can and can not do. But I will say that it seems to me like a very bad practice to just go in as administrator and overrule a consensus reached in a discussion. I would say that if you happened to disagree with that consensus you should instead have weighed in during the discussion. Not just overrule it afterwards. There are a couple of issues with the edits SeekerAfterTruth has been making – they include description which isn't in the source, and they seem to be giving undue weight in biographies to a specific vote in 2007 on no more basis than SeekerAfterTruth's assertion that it's very important. Information on the state of play of political parties from before the 2007 General election is largely out of date 3 years later. It isn't "Vandalism" to attempt to update and shorten articles by removing comment from prior to that date. For instance, references to Fianna Fail's former leader - Bertie Ahern - is just ancient history. Likewise comments about Sinn Fein growing in the Republic of Ireland are out of date.

Also, the article is inaccurate. It is headed "Politics in the Republic of Ireland" but has a table that includes a column for the number of elected members of the Northern Ireland assembly! Even then it isn't constitent, the number of Sinn Fein members of the Northern Ireland Assembly is listed, that of the Green Party is not.

Wikipedia's an encyclopaedia, not a news or blog site. Users will often use Wikipedia to find out about the history of a topic. Therefore all history is relevant. The vast majority of article grow in size as their history is updated. Hi. It seems that the talk page warnings that you are issuing with Huggle are not taking account of existing warnings. So, for example, if I have already issued a level 1 warning, huggle is just adding a new level 1 warning, and I am having to go back in and add an escalated warning, which is not ideal. Huggle only counts the "standard" (

I can't remember the full circumstances of the blocking - sometimes I see it all happening in

WP:AIV, and then checking the edits. It quite reasonable to think that this is a vandalism account - following the expiration a one week block they start their old ways with this. It's normal for block lengths to increase each time - especially so soon after one has expired.  Ronhjones  ^(Talk)
