Shorin-ryu articles

I noticed that you have been adding {{

Karate schools}} as a subset of that, and {{Shōrin-ryū styles
}} as a subset of that. Even though the Shorin-ryu branches are martial arts, the martial arts template would not be used on these articles. Similarly, the karate schools template should not be used on these articles. The general philosophy on navigation templates is that a template should only be used on an article that is linked in the template. Since the Shorin-ryu branches are on their own template, they should not also be on the karate schools template.

Also, are you aware that some of your edits removed the Japanese kanji for the names of the style? I think it would be nice to keep this information in the article. --Scott Alter 23:16, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's

Hi Rossen, After Singularity left the above notes on your talkpage, you have continued editing, but haven't responded here, or on the talkpage of Modern Buddhism. That gives me the idea that you either not reading the messages on your talkpage, or are unwilling to discuss differences. That makes me concerned you may be pushing your own view through, which would go in to the collaborative project Wikipedia is. I would appreciate it if you could comment here, to avoid things getting out of hand. Regards, Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 14:10, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Rossen4: I simply deleted a doubled link. The link in the third entry of the page went to the same page as the link in the second entry of the page. I didn't actually delete any info. Just removed the second instance of the same link.

Rossen4, thank you for responding. I now understand your edit, and have no issue with it. Please in the future, use edit summaries, especially when another editor is challenging your edits. That would have avoided this from escalating in the first place. Singularity42 (talk) 20:40, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. Hi! I just wanted to apologise about the reversal of your edits on flag of Tibet. What you said in the SPI is correct, the linked war was indeed not the one the article should've referred to. I might have got a bit too revert-happy on China-related articles because of my experiences on other pages (like Amazing China). It is of course my responsibility to make sure that I'm not reverting good additions of content (like yours), but I would still like to ask you to consider using the edit summary a bit more often, to explain yourself and to avoid situations like this one. Sorry for the mess! Doanri (talk) 18:52, 23 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

"but I would still like to ask you to consider using the edit summary a bit more often, to explain yourself and to avoid situations like this one." That's certainly a good idea. Sorry for not using it. I'll remember to do so in the future. Thanks.

White Helmets (Syrian Civil War) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection
.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Request for a self-revert, and a note about BRD

Hello, I have recently been following your contributions at

WP:BRD, in which discussions take place to determine if there is a consensus to add objected to content to an article. Given that multiple editors have contested to the content you have been adding, I would like to request that you self-revert your recent edit so that a discussion can talk place on the relevant talk page. If you have any questions of me, feel free to ask. Best.--SamHolt6 (talk) 00:54, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Ksudraka Agama

Hello Rossen4,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Ksudraka Agama for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Āgama (Buddhism) into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 11:42, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You've been an editor long enough to know that serious BLP claims must have good sources. DailyMail is not reliable and depreciated on Wikipedia. Youtube is usually not reliable unless it's from a reliable outlet (eg NYT). Business Insider is questionable per

Contentious Topics notification

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to articles about

contentious
. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the

Ctopics/aware
}} template.
