The Royal Retirement (Comeback) Barnstar
I, Soham is extremely thrilled, over-joyed to find out that my welcoming-user is back and that too with a bang! Wanted you to give me a message one day but then saw the template and some others idiotic comments. Was left heartbroken, tried to contact you by mail but that too proved unsuccessful so here I am giving you one thing I could not previously. Although I kept a thing in my talk page in your memories but its more fun-giving to see that your back! Sohambanerjee1998 15:46, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock request

Although I use this username to edit wikipedia, most of the times I can't revert/edit here since it says that You have been blocked from editing. This happens since my IP has been blocked but my username is not blocked. I haven't use the IP to edit since I registered for 2 years ago, when I edit here I have only used this username to edit but sometimes I can't edit although I have been logged in with this username. Why is this preventing me to edit here. Can some admin take a look and help me out of this problem. Following are the information that pops up:

Your username or IP address has been blocked.

The block was made by Materialscientist. The reason given is

The IP address that you are currently using has been blocked because it is believed to be an open proxy. To prevent abuse, these proxies may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. If you believe you are not running an open proxy, the most likely cause is that another customer from your ISP who was previously assigned this IP address was running an open proxy. If this is the case, please request to be unblocked using the unblock template, or request administrator attention using admin! and indicate you are caught by an open proxy block. More rarely, your network equipment or that of your service provider may be misconfigured or compromised by malicious software (such as a virus). In some cases, this can be remedied by logging into the secure server. For more information, see the Wikiproject on Open Proxies and Wikipedia:Open proxies. Start of block: 15:25, September 21, 2013 Expiry of block: 15:25, March 21, 2014 Intended blockee: 182.50.66.67

Your current IP address is 182.50.66.67, and the block ID is #4575939

I have asked at Wikipedia:WikiProject on open proxies/Requests for this to be looked into. JohnCD (talk) 15:33, 1 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks and also could you please ping MS regarding this. Tolly4bolly 16:46, 1 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Tolly4Bolly, I have once received an open-proxy block and got out of it by making some adjustments without having to request for unblock. Which ISP you have? BSNL? Whats your OS? Are you using Google DNS or Open DNS? Soham 16:49, 1 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
As suggested at
IP block exemption for the moment, formal notice below. With the new "notifications" system, you could ping MS yourself by typing {{ping|Materialscientist}}, but I will do it. @Materialscientist: your comments welcome here. JohnCD (talk) 17:16, 1 January 2014 (UTC)[reply
]

IP block exempt

I have granted your account an

full blocks affecting your IP address
when you are logged in.

Please read the page

IP block exemption conditions
.

Note in particular that you are not permitted to use this newly-granted right to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies, or disruptively. If you do, or there is a serious concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.

Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).

I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption. JohnCD (talk) 17:16, 1 January 2014 (UTC) JohnCD (talk) 17:16, 1 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Udit Narayan

Hi , this has reference to the Udit Narayan page which is lacking on several fronts. You had earlier mentioned that names of actors sung for need not be included in the playback singer's page . There is User:Amanraj6 who is constantly edit warring with me on the subject.

Further Udit Narayan is known mainly for Bollywood songs . What is the need for Oriya , Tamil , Telugu songs to be enlisted on his page ?? Let me know your opinion. The article is lacking even on reliable sources.--ANKMALI (talk) 05:39, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
