Just saw your edits to S. Subramania Iyer. Great job! I just need a few clarifications. I've found that you've replaced Subbier with Subbiyer Aiyer. Now, isn't Subbiyer just another form Subba Iyer? By the way, I observe that the article has expanded from 5KB to 13KB. Perhaps, you might be interested in a

DYK expansion. Articles expanded five-fold in five days could be nominated to be featured on Wikipedia's main page in the Did You Know (DYK) section. I observed that the article has had a 2-fold expansion in a day. Perhaps, you could expand the article still more.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 05:34, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply

Madras Presidency

Since you are interested in topics connected with Madras, could you please have a look at Madras Presidency article? I had completely rewritten the whole thing from a stub but the lack of districtwise census info for the period 1911-1941 is preventing me from nominating this for a GA. Would it be possible for you to obtain the info? Thanks!-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 02:24, 29 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, most of the article is well written and comprehensive. The part which lacks details is the "Demographics" section. I suppose I had been too ambitious in creating that table but beyond the years 1871-1901 I could not find census details anywhere, not even in the web. It would be great if some assistance could be provided.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 18:36, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oh! I am sorry! I did not read you message fully. I just had a look at it while archiving. I'll tell you how to create a redirect. Just wait a minute. I cannot possibly "do it for you" as it would amount to meatpuppetry.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 18:44, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The article is already 110 KB long. I am afraid expanding the article further will lessen its chances of passing a good article or featured article nomination. On the contrary, you could add missing information to History of Tamil Nadu page or create a History of Madras Presidency page and link it from this article. Do have a look at List of zamindari estates in Madras Presidency.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 19:10, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot! Coimbatore district has already been listed in the table. As far as Guntur district is concerned, I understand that Guntur district was merged in 1859 and reconstituted in 1904. So, it was not listed in the 1871, 1881 and 1891 censuses. Yeah, please do include Guntur district. We will have a footnote mentioning the facts.Thanks-

Redirecting
Vellore Revolt to Vellore Mutiny
Since a page by name Vellore Mutiny (albeit only a redirect page) already exists, a normal redirect isn't possible in this case. So, you could simply copy-paste the contents of Vellore Revolt to Vellore Mutiny manually and convert Vellore Revolt to a redirect page by blanking it and adding

#REDIRECT [[<Article name>]]

A genealogy link

I read about a
Parimelazhagar
. I find that they are missing but I don't have enough time with me.
I observe that the
Kalki Sadasivam
among famous Brahacharanams. I'm planning to prepare an infobox for the article and it'll great if you could find sources to verify the claim before I could add his picture to the infobox.
It would also be great if you could create infoboxes for
Thenkalai Iyengar. I know for sure that C. Rajagopalachari and T. S. S. Rajan are Vadagalais and Srinivasa Ramanujan is a Thenkalai, but I guess we need to have a list of atleast 3 or 4 individuals to prepare an infobox collage. Could you look into this?-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 09:17, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply

I presume actor Jaishankar is Brahacharanam. I remember reading somewhere that Tamil thatha U. V. Swaminatha Iyer is Ashtasahasram.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 17:37, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I don't know. I've added an infobox for
original research in lists, infobox images must be strictly verifiable. By the way, are you sure that Mudaliyandan, etc. are Vadama?-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 17:50, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply

I am sorry. I did not see the reference. I do not have doubts over Mudaliyandan. But it is over Ramayyan Dalawa that I have doubts.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 17:52, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
From what I could understand from this link you provided as a source, Ramayyan Dalawa could either be a Vadama or a Brahacharanam. Correct me if I am wrong. But this is what I could infer from the last paragraph.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 17:55, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clarifying! Well, will it be possible for you to create articles on Naccinarkiniyar and Parimelazhagar, etc. -The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 18:03, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No probs! :-) -The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 18:19, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
How about E. Krishna Iyer?-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 18:20, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Brahmin

Frankly speaking, I am neither a religious person nor am I much obsessed towards Brahmin culture, practices, etc., and things like that. I started editing Iyer and Iyengar article rather by chance when I encountered abuse of Tamil Brahmins by stupid Dravidar Kazhagam elements on internet forums who claimed that Tamil Brahmins were responsible for the plight of the socially depressed communities and that Brahmins were anti-Tamil and things like that. On performing a detailed research, I discovered that both these accusations were baseless. After all, all Tamil communities have contributed in an equal measure towards enriching our culture and society. Well, in case, there is some neutrality to be maintained and excessive Brahmin propaganda or anti-Brahmin content to be removed then I'm always here to help. I'm also ready to offer assistance in inclusion of anthropological data or things like that.

By the way, while searching for information about a few 19th century political leaders and freedom-fighters from the Madras Presidency, I was able to gather loads of information about a relation of mine. I would rather like to discuss these with you off-Wiki as also about Vyaghradhataki sickening propaganda.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 00:59, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Just stumbled upon this. The article discusses the origin of Vadama Iyers. Do check this out.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 02:25, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
