This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on October 17, 2022.

Draft:Lucky Duck

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's
talk page or in a deletion review
). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was
WP:SNOW keep. It is not normal to delete redirects from draft space to articles moved from drafts, no reason has been given for making an exception this time, and clearly the discussion is heading for a solid keep result, so there is no point in taking up any more of editors' time on this. (Incidentally, the reason given in the nomination is also incorrect: this is not an abandoned draft.) JBW (talk) 21:00, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply

Abandoned draft redirect of an already existing page. Darth-Wiki-Man (talk) 22:04, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Just a comment per
WP:AFC: “ Please note that getting a review can take several weeks, but that your draft will be reviewed eventually. Attempting to bypass the process by moving the page, or cutting and pasting it into a new mainspace article, may lead to the page being moved back into draftspace again, speedy-deleted or listed for AFD, and repeated attempts may even lead to you being temporarily or permanently blocked from editing Wikipedia” Equine-man (talk) 23:22, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply

The result of the discussion was delete. signed, Rosguill talk 21:19, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not included in the target article. The only mention I could find of this person is in List of people with surname Evans#Fictional characters, but there's no real content there. 192.76.8.77 (talk) 18:47, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - not mentioned at target so clearly unhelpful; further he's evidently a minor character so unlikely to be expanded upon. Should also be removed from surname list for the same reason, but I will await the outcome of this discussion before doing so. ‡ El cid, el campeador talk 12:39, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not included in the target list or anywhere else in the project. There is a mention in an article on an actor who didn't get the role and a mention in a unofficial soundtrack, neither of which is a suitable target. 192.76.8.77 (talk) 18:40, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The word "chocolate" is no where in the target article, leaving readers searching this term with no information about the subject of this redirect. In addition, o could not find a good retargeting option; between redirects such as Boston cream pie and Choco pie, it may just be better to delete the redirect so Wikipedia's search function can best help our readers locate the article which they are intending to find when searching this term. Steel1943 (talk) 20:12, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete I'm rather surprised we don't have an article about chocolate pies (as search results inform me that there are many sorts) but we don't. I'm even more surprised that there isn't at least one recipe at WikiBooks, but again there isn't (there is
    List of pies, Chocolate or List of chocolate-covered foods so like the nominator I'm left at recommending deletion due the absence of a suitable target. Thryduulf (talk) 20:24, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply
    ]
  • Possible Retarget to Cream pie. When we say 'chocolate pie' I think we are ultimately referring to chocolate cream pie. If I am not mistaken, I think a retarget to Cream pie, where discussion of chocolate cream pie is included, would make sense. ‡ El cid, el campeador talk 19:20, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    ...Well, the term isn't mentioned as phrased in Cream pie either, so there's not really a way to show a definite connection between the two subjects otherwise. Steel1943 (talk) 18:45, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I am not aware of chocolate pie which is not chocolate cream pie. If you google chocolate pie, you get recipes for chocolate cream pie. I think they are just the same thing. ‡ El cid, el campeador talk 16:33, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
"Chocolate Chip Pie" is a also real thing (many recipes on Google) and the first potential target I thought of when I saw this. Skynxnex (talk) 19:37, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak delete given there isn't really a great target and probably just doing a search would be a better result. Feels like Choco pie is perhaps the best target due to the textual similarity if decided to retarget. Skynxnex (talk) 19:35, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to delete this redirect because there is no actual draft with that title that exists. 99.209.40.250 (talk) 13:50, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete: This seems to be a bizarre redirect from a page movie where the page was changed to be about something completely different by an account that is now indeffed in part for disruptive editing on drafts. TartarTorte 14:10, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. If the creator wasn't indeffed then I'd suggest moving the content in the history of Draft:Witchblade (upcoming TV series) that was about the Spice Girls film to this title, but as it is I see no value in doing that and no value in keeping this. If someone else does want to write about the subject this title (there is or was an animated film in the development process) would then be available, but the 2020 material will not add anything significant. Thryduulf (talk) 14:37, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. If I recall correctly, the creator had a habit of hijacking existing drafts, replacing them with their own articles, and retitling them. This is probably an artifact of that. Trivialist (talk) 22:01, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Currently Caltex Australia redirects to Ampol it having been rebranded in 2020 after Chevron reclaimed the trademark. While Caltex Australia Limited was the legal name, its service stations were branded as just Caltex (no Australia) Chevron have now begun to roll out the Caltex brand to its own Australian service stations, and likewise is using just Caltex.

As the rollout continues, town and suburb articles will inevitably be populated with 'has a

primary topic will be the incumbent rather than former user and may justify a stand-alone article, but during this transition phase suggest the Caltex Australia page be set as a disambiguation between the former user of the brand, Ampol, and current user, Caltex#Australia#Since 2022. Alternatively the redirect could be set to Caltex#Australia where there is a high-level summary. Marrunduke (talk) 03:47, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply
]

While I agree that Caltex Australia in the past refers to what is now Ampol, I don't think Caltex Australia will ever mean the new Caltex in Australia officially. Those town and suburb articles or captions that mention Caltex Australia but meaning Caltex would be wrong as they should be referring to Caltex only. I acknowledge it could be misleading, which is why I added a hatnote on the Ampol article for clarification. Marcnut1996 (talk) 07:26, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Caltex#Australia. I think this explains the confusion best (as an Australian I am myself a bit confused by this...). Second preference keep with the hatnote. A7V2 (talk) 02:45, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Caltex#Australia per A7V2. Chevron (Puma Energy) will be sole incumbent users of the Caltex brand when 2023 rolls around in a few months time. 203.17.70.53 (talk) 00:26, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
