Suspected sockpuppets


Sweetindian had been edit warring on L. Murugan and ultimately made a legal threat which led to getting blocked. A few days after that, Indiaproject was created and after making a few edits to other articles they went to L. Murugan and made the same edits

After making yet another rv to their preferred version of the article, Indiaproject abruptly slapped a "retired" tag on their user talk page.[3] Three minutes later, Sweetindian did the exact same thing on their talk page.[4] Notfrompedro (talk) 17:14, 16 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets

  • Dravidianstock2 Asked other editors to protect "Cabinet minister" L. Murugan and claims it as a ploy by opposition party cadres like the previous socks. Cadres of certain parties in TN are emplyed to make controversial content in page of Union Cabinet minister[5], The page dedicated for cabinet minister and former TN BJP state L. Murugan is consistently vandalised by DMK cadres from TN.[6] The page of cabinet minister and former TB BJP chief L. Murugan is completely vandalised and have lots of false claims.[7].
  • Dravidianstock2 continued editing the same content as Indiaproject in List of temples in Tamil Nadu.[8][9] and added the same content in Om Namah Shivaya.[10][11]
  • Dravidianstock2 Writes added citations in the edit summary when they are actually adding content like the previous socks.[12][13].
  • The account Dakkss added similar content in the same paragraph[14] two days after, when the content added by Indiaproject[15] was reverted.

Added Indianculture2 who was created 3 days after Dravidianstock2 was blocked, and is continuing the disruptive edit war[16] of 157.49.141.74[17] and 111.92.42.81[18] in Kongu Tamil and restoring the edits of pervious sock in Arunthathiyar with false edit summary.[19][20]. Removed a section in talk page by another user in Talk:Sacred language like the previous sock.[21][22] SUN EYE 1 09:13, 6 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Added Tamilianda who was created 19 hours after Indianculture2 was blocked, is back again to restore the content[23] added by last sock Dravidianstock2[24]. Updated Uthiyur and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham which was edited by most of the socks.SUN EYE 1 15:02, 11 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Added 70mmsock who was named after measurements like the socks of Tamilianda 60kgs and 61kgs and even has "sock" in the username. This account was used to edit war over the content added by the IP range 157.49.130.244 in Proposed states and union territories of India. Abuses me in my talk page and uses the signature of Dravidianstock2[25].SUN EYE 1 16:03, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Added 10mmuser, similar name as 70mmsock and was created a day after 70mmsock was blocked, the account expanded the unsourced paragraph added by 157.46.70.209 [26] in Sacred language[27]. The IP range 157.49.0.0/16 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) reported in the previous SPIs of this master is being used to evade the block everyday. This IP range is using different IP address each day and it is impossible to list them all here.

கிருஷ்ணதாசன் was created just to edit war over the content added by the 157.49.*.* range in Uthiyur(This page was edited by most of the socks and IPs of this master).[66][67]. Claims to have added translated content from other wiki like the 157.49.*.* range.[68][69], grammar, punctuation.[70][71][72]

Suneye12 was an impersonation of my account and was created to continue the edit war of 157.49.*.* range.[73][74][75]. Same content previously removed by older sock.[76] The master has also impersonated 10mmsocket who filed an SPI against them with 70mmsock and 10mmuser. High level of IP Vandalisation. when requesting page protection.[77][78]

157.49.154.67 Restores content

Wholepak added the same Hindutva propaganda about the same political party as done before by Dravidianstock2.[87][88]. Wholepak created the same article in Tamil [89] before adding the same content here. This is also a habit of older socks of this master to update the content in other Indian language wiki articles which they were interested in en.wiki. Suneye12[90], கிருஷ்ணதாசன்[91], Someuser1234[92], Amritauniv[93], Gooduser12 [94]. @GeneralNotability:, I have added Acc12346 who was created to restore[97] the content added by Wholepak[98] in Pseudo-secularism. Perhaps, that might be the reason why Materialscientist blocked the user. A new account Huggst65 was created just hours after the previous blocks and has the same habit with the previously reported 157.49.* and 223.182.* of claiming major news outlets as political mouthpieces to censor content critical of the

The 157.49.*.* IP range reported in all of the last reports is still editing everyday.

157.49.160.126 created a section in [116] and Usermade removed it and calls me a sock. This is likely because I recently reverted their edits by older socks in the same article.[117] Not to mention, this user's socks have a history of impersonating me(Suneye12) and constant abuses against me.[118][119][120] Usermade copy pastes the content added by their older socks in the article's talk page.[121][122] 157.49.172.43 restored content added by their older sock.[123][124] - SUN EYE 1 16:36, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Srinithi67 translated Maridhas Malaichamy to Tamil language in Tamil wikipedia on 16 January.[146] 2 hours later, the IP 157.49.163.248 (the IP range 157.49.* is used mostly by this sock master and reported in all of the previous reports) edited the English article.[147]. Then, the IP and Srinithi67 edited the same article in Wikidata, 11 hours apart from each other.[148][149]. The Ip range 223.182.* reported in the previous reports also edited the wikidata item 4 hours before Srinithi67.[150][151]. Srinithi67 created Uthiyur in kn.wikipedia; this article was created and edited by most of the older socks.[152]
  • Name2a also has the same habit of editing wikidata like the latest blocked sock Tamil99.[153][154]. Name2a edited articles about Amrita educational institutions; this is one of the most interested areas of this sock-farm[155] as reported in older SPIs. Name2a added references with a totally fake edit summary in the same page like an older sock.[156][157][158]
  • Name6554 with similar name as Name2a came up yesterday to and accuses me of editing politically like the previous socks.[159][160][161] Not to mention, this sock farm has a history of making abuses and threats against me.[162][163] Name6554 edited the above mentioned page created by Srinithi67, 12 minutes apart from eachother.[164][165]. Name6554 was created on 10:28, 24 January; 22 minutes after Srinithi67's latest editing session which started at 10:58, 24 January - SUNEYE 1 18:00, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Watsonsherwin adds the same misleading edit summary "per source" as an older sock to edit content without sources.[166][167]. Same as older socks, this one edits multiple wikis; Watsonsherwin made an edit request in a talk page of an article in ta.wiki[168] and an older sock made the edit after 17 days.[169]

Hellosamy made an edit request in Kongu Vellalar,[170] one of this sock farm's most intersted articles. Atleast 3 older socks made edit requests in the article.[171][172][173] and 2 edited it. Hellosamy made promotional edits to Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research by citing the own website of the institution, same as the older socks doing it for many other educational institutions.[174][175].

2409:4072:8E3C:49F3:B406:14C5:A234:2940 edited the tamil version of Uthiyur, reported in almost all of the previous reports and edited by most of the older socks. Edited the tamil verison of Konganar,[176] created by an older sock.[177]. Has the habit of editing wikidata like the older socks and edited "Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham" in wikidata an article edited my many socks in en.wiki.[178]. Amritha educational institutions

Account87 who has same interest in Amritha educational institutions like most of the socks reported before, removes redirect and added 13k bytes of content to Amrita Schools of Business.[192]. The very next day Tamilgirl22 with less than 20 edits edited the page and made some clean ups.[193][194]. Marylog1 with only 2 edits came up to add more than 7k bytes of content to Amrita Schools of Business after 20 days.[195]

Tamilgirl22 also edited Amrita Vidyalayam which was created by Tyih 5 days earlier.[196]. Account87 added content to the article after one day of it's creation.[197]. Tyih makes misleading edit summary and habit of past socks.[198]

    This is a bit complicated, there are lots of IPs involved jumping across some wide ranges, but I have been able to make the following connections:
    • Nam3443, which is already blocked, is in a group that is  Confirmed to one another, and includes Tyih, Tamilgirl22, Marylog1, Account87, Malay231, Hannah109 and Ugvugvgu. This group is confirmed to Watsonsherwin, who is already tagged as confirmed to this master, so I will block and tag these accordingly.
    • Newgirl13, is already blocked; there isn't much to go on, but they're using a different IP range; however, they are  Confirmed to Hawaiitamil, and for reasons I won't go into here, I am confident that they are connected to Sweetindian - I will block these and tag as proven.   • Tyjh99 has a similar user name as the past sock Tyih. Removed the same templates from a same draft done by an IP reported previously.[205][206].
  • Jvgyigs has interest in Uthiyur like almost all of the past socks.[207]. Same content addition in the infobox as a past sock.[208][209]
  • Both have the same habit of editing Wikidata like past socks.[210][211].
Amrita educational institutions

Tyjh99 has same interests in Amrita institutions like all the past socks, they translated Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in ta.wik.[212]. They also uploaded an image of Amrita university in commons.[213]

IP address

The Ip address reported in the last report significantly expanded Kundadam block[214] while Tyjh99 created Kundadam.[215]. Expands Amrita Vidyalayam created by a past sock, Tyih [216]. IP pops up to remove the orphan tag in an article created by Jvgyigs, the next day.[217] - SUN EYE 1 14:22, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Corna2342 was created 13 days after the last set of socks were blocked. Corna2342 created Uthiyur Hills from a redirect to Uthiyur. Uthiyur is a hotbed for most of the previous socks. Corna2342 restored the reverted move done by a previous sock Jvgyigs.[218][219]
Amrita educational institutions

Articles related to Amrita educational institutions are a hotbed for almost all of the previous socks.

IP address

The IP 14.139.187.130 restored the same content in Sacred language added repeatedly by previous socks.[230][231][232][233]. 14.139.187.130 resumed editing the content added by Corna2342 within a day.[234][235]. 14.139.187.130 added a image[236] uploaded in commons by previous sock Tyjh99.[237]. Edited Avinashipalayam ten days after it was created by Corna2342.[238]

Udhayanidhi7530 was created 16 days after the last set was blocked. Erreneous John and Udhayanidhi7530 were created a month after the last set was blocked.

  • Erreneous John resumed editing content added by a past sock.[239][240]. Erreneous John and past sock Jvgyigs added a river in the same section of Template:Tiruppur district.[241][242]. Udhayanidhi7530 uploaded images about Uthiyur, a hotbed of past socks as mentioned above.[246][247][248]. Also significantly expanded Uthiyur in ta.wiki.[249]. Uploaded image about an article Vanavaraya Nallur created by a past sock.[250][251]
  • Thaletto1908 is named after the past socks, Thaletto, Laxman.1908 and Laxmanthaletto. All four of these mostly edited only Ponniyin Selvan: I. Thaletto1908 linked a soundtrack of an article added to a disambiguation page by a past sock.[252][253]

AS7488SA was created 14 days after the last set got blocked. Delhikabai was created two days after AS7488SA. Hjhjvhj was created 2 days after Delhikabai. User1234p was created one day after Hjhjvhj.

AS7488SA's one edit is to add an image.[254] This image[255] is a modification of an image previously uploaded[256] and added by a past sock Hannah109.[257]

User1234p made 2 edits. On edit was an unsourced addition on Uthiyur Hills,[258] expanded from redirect by the sock Corna2342 [259]. The other edit was an expansion of Dharapuram,[260] a place of interest for past socks.[261][262][263]

Hjhjvhj's only edit was to readd the same content added by two past socks.[264][265][266] Hjhjvhj is named likely using random keystrokes like past socks Ygyggy, Jvgyigs, Ugvugvgu

Delhikabai's first edit was to expand

Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences[268] and uploaded a copyvio image of the institution in commons[269]. Delhikabai removed the same section in the same article using a very similar edit summary like a past sock.[270][271]. Edited Template:Kaumaram[272] while four past socks were blocked for slow edit warring in Kaumaram.[273][274][275][276]

  • As reported in most of the previous SPI cases, this account also has a huge interest in Amrita educational institutions and most of this account's edits are in different articles of Amrita educational institutions.
  • A previous sock puppet Delhikabai moved Amrita Hospital to Amrita Hospital, Faridabad which was then reverted.[334]. This account created a move request to move the article to the same name with the same reasoning as the previous sock.[335]. Also, this account added a image to the same article uploaded by the same past sock.[336][337]
  • Calls images as "pic" like a previous sock.[338][339]
  • Uses numbers in sentences for the number two like a previous sock.[340][341]

    @RoySmith: Two minutes after Hedgeunkil left a message here below,[348] a new account Pundai99ui came to my talk page and threatened to kill and bury me in Tamil language.[349]. A Previous sock also left a death threat in Tamil language in my talk page a year ago.[350]

Two minutes after the last blocked sock Hedgeunkil left a comment on the last filed SPI,[351] a new account Pundai99ui came to my talk page and threatened to kill and bury me in Tamil language.[352].
