Once Upon a Time in Wikipedia

After big views for a high point of 1969, the Moon landing, attention is drawn to a low one, the Tate murders (like when the mastermind behind the crimes died), thanks to the bloody revisionist take present in the latest Quentin Tarantino movie, which tops the list. There are other film entries (#6, #7), many of whom involve superheroes (#9, #18, #22) and one on a streaming service (#20 - the same one that offers #24) - and in a convergence of both topics, there's a subversive take on superpowered people in The Boys (#2, #14). Completing it, there's politics (#5, #8, #11), entries propelled by our friends in India (#4, #23) and Reddit (#12, #13), and the oft-present Lady Death (#3) and Freddie Mercury (#25).

6	The Lion King (2019 film)		852,681		The most successful Disney animated classic, held dear by anyone who grew up in the 90s - myself included, I even Good Article here - got a remake whose only purpose is to stuff the studio's coffers, as it's basically the same movie, stretched to two hours, with few good changes and many bad ones (e.g. "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" during the day and whatever this was). And The Lion King surely is doing that !

8	Boris Johnson		749,040		Johnson (who was described by Donald Trump as "Britain Trump") became the PM of UK on July 23.
9	Avengers: Endgame		682,848		A movie where Thanos (whose "daughters" are seen to the left) dies twice. Made a boatload of cash (#16) and is currently the most viewed article of the year.
10	Sharon Tate		614,199		Margot Robbie (pictured) portrays this actress in our #1.
11	Marianne Williamson		576,385		Like #5, a woman who wants to be POTUS.
12	Orang Pendek		562,884		Reddit attacks, albeit not r/TodayILearned, but r/AskReddit, namely a topic on cryptids that sent droves into learning about a small Indonesian ape and a huge New Zealander eagle.

18	List of Marvel Cinematic Universe films		434,137		Marvel Studios announced their next Phase, mostly free of just following our #9 - sure, there are Thor and Doctor Strange sequels; but the very next movie is a prequel, and then there's obscure characters getting introduced.
19	Quentin Tarantino		430,071		Disclaimer: I love the movies, but I don't like this guy. The first movie of his I saw did not impress me, and while his first attempt at a Western pleased me enough to give a shot to his so-called opus (just alright, and yet people think this is better than Forrest Gump), his second attempt on that genre was so frustrating that it ensured I'll pass on the movie currently topping our report. And hearing he's somehow heading a Star Trek project makes me sad.
20	The Irishman (2019 film)		423,021		Now for a director that I like more (except the movie the Academy somehow decided to award), Martin Scorsese, who finally reunites with Robert De Niro, while also bringing along Al Pacino and Joe Pesci , for another movie about people involved with the Italian mafia. Dropped by Paramount but picked up by Netflix, The Irishman had its first teaser trailer debut on July 31, and is set to appear in some festivals and theaters before becoming available in our streaming overlords.
21	Manson Family		410,962		The commune\cult led by #17 - which of course appears in our #1 - and that thankfully does not include Marilyn and Shirley.
22	Spider-Man: Far From Home		394,896		Our Friendly Neighborhood is still going strong on both the box office (#16) and this list.
23	Article 35A of the Constitution of India		390,833		The government of India moved to scrap this article regarding the oft-disputed land of Kashmir and introduced a bill to divide the state into two Union Territories – Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. The move was preceded by significant military build-up in the state, a curfew, a statewide cut-off of internet and mobile connectivity, and arrests of local political leaders.
