Aleksandr Mikhailovich Nosatov (Russian: Александр Михайлович Носатов; born 27 March 1963) is an officer of the Russian Navy. He holds the rank of admiral, and is currently serving as First Deputy Commander in Chief of the Navy.
Born in
Career
Nosatov was born on 27 March 1963 in Sevastopol, then part of the Ukrainian SSR, in the Soviet Union.[1][2] He studied at the P. S. Nakhimov Black Sea Higher Naval School, graduating in 1985.[1] His early officer service was spent with the Pacific Fleet, as a lieutenant engineer in the laboratory of the coastal base maintenance workshop.[3]
Between 1986 and 1989 he commanded an anti-aircraft missile battery aboard the Sovremenny-class destroyer Stoykiy.[1][3] Nosatov then went on to serve as commander of missile and artillery combat aboard the destroyer Bezboyaznenny and from 1991 was assistant to the flagship missile specialist of the 35th missile ship division.[3] From 1993 Nosatov was commander of the Bezboyaznenny's missile weapons.[3] In 1994 he became the flagship specialist in missile weapons for the 36th division of missile ships, and from 1997 to 1998 was the senior officer to the commander of the Slava-class cruiser Varyag.[3]

From 17 May 2016 he was briefly head of the Naval Academy.[1][2][3]
On 30 June 2016, after one and a half months as head of the academy, Nosatov was appointed acting commander of the Baltic Fleet, replacing Vice-Admiral
Over his years of service Nosatov has been awarded the Order of Military Merit and the Order of Naval Merit, as well as various departmental medals.[1][10]
