Career

Bertley earned a bachelor's degree with a focus in physiology, mathematics, and the history of science in 1994 and a Ph.D. in immunology in 1999, both from McGill University. In 2003, he went on to receive his post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School.[1]

After his postdoctoral fellowship, Bertley worked as a scientist at

WilmerHale LLP as a technology specialist in 2004,[2] In 2008 he became the vice president of the Center for Innovation in Science Learning at the Franklin Institute.[3] In late 2016, Bertley left the Franklin institute to become the president and CEO of COSI
