I wasn't counted

I wrote in vladimir Putin for president and Dimitri Medvedev for vice president. Wikipedia has recorded the election results president and wikipedia is ignoring my vote. This page better display the true results otherwise I will complain to Russia an the government of the Eurasian Union. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.197.197.54 (talk) 01:02, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Using DFL shading for Democratic candidates in presidential elections for Minnesota

The DFL came about in 1944, and every Wikipedia article about US presidential elections in Minnesota since 1944 (except for 2000-2012) uses DFL colors. However, in the articles about the 2000, 2004, 2008, and 2012 elections in Minnesota, the Democratic candidate is given the shading of the national Democratic Party. However, in Minnesota, the Democrats are officially known as the Democratic Farmer-Labor Party (DFL), and the Minnesota Secretary of State Website lists all Democratic candidates under the DFL label. Dave Leip's atlas, a source that is also cited, lists Democratic candidates in Minnesota under the DFL label. When I edit to incorporate DFL colors for Democratic presidential candidates in Minnesota (for election results, not polls), in order to match official designations by Minnesota Secretary of State website, it keeps getting reversed. Due to the fact that Minnesota Democrats are known as DFL, we should use the DFL colors. Spaceworker2 (talk) 02:01, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Agree! And the reason that is always given is that 'the Democratic colours should be used for the Democratic candidate', when the Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party is an offical affiliate and part of the Democratic Party, not a different party entirely. After the 1944 party merger: Biden, Clinton, every Democratic nominee before 2004, U.S. Representatives from MN, and U.S. Senators from MN are all under the DFL label and colours on the Wiki, so it makes sense to keep the consistency between all the Minnesota elections.
