I haven't been to this page since I edited it about a year and a half ago. I put in an extensive description of Wendt's book, only to find it deleted now because Wendt is an "obscure intellectual" who was writing about himself. (Not only was the IP address comment a lie, it was an unnecessary one.) And then you say it's "too long" for an encyclopedia article? As if there is only a limited amount of space on my monitor? The article on Battlestar Galactica was twice as long.

This sort of stupididity is the reason, by the way, that Wikipedia will never become a serious alternative for scholars. Nice job guys. 24.39.93.130 (talk) 04:38, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I can't see the information that you added, as I'm assuming you used a different IP. The user who added the comment about him being obscure and the allegations that he wrote himself seems to have only vandalised the article. I'd suggest that you should add back some of the removed content. The assertion that he is obscure is obviously daft and unfounded. --ascorbic (talk) 07:52, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Alexander Wendt sure did a good job writing about himself

Though, now that I think of it, this is against wikipedia policy. I decided to look because the article about this obscure intellectual just goes on and on and doesn't even cite anything.

164.107.190.144 is the creator of this article, which links to none other than Ohio State University, which coincidentally is where Wendt teaches.

Requesting deletion... we dont need articles about arrogant morons who think quantum mechanics has practical implications to sociology.

I think you're confused. 164.107.190.144 is the IP of the first person to edit the talk page for this article. See http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Alexander_Wendt&oldid=35816643 to see what they said there. The article itself was created by 24.71.223.141, which is a Shaw Cable broadband user. I can't find any reference to an Ohio State IP address editing the article text at all.
Nevertheless, you have a point that most of the text in this article goes into a lot more detail than is really appropriate for an encyclopedia, and should be drastically trimmed. I'll take a stab at that. Thanks for pointing that out, though I really rather wish you'd just said so in the first place. :-) Tim Pierce 05:14, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just want to point out that Alexander Wendt is not at all an obscure intellectual. He is the most preeminent proponent of the third biggest school of international studies. I think that removing the article was abusing and unfortunate... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Grompre (talkcontribs) 14:07, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

where is the rest of the article

that article was obviously written as part of a student paper on the book —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.126.139.211 (talk) 22:14, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
