What about how a strange man took her oscar in 1937?

I don’t think we should give any ink to the Timmy rumor, nor give "Entertainment Lawyer" any credit for fabricating it.

• First, the story is entirely unfounded; ENT has not named a single source or produced any proof of the Alice Brady/Arthur Blake connection. If a mainstream media outlet picks up this story, then citing to that source might be appropriate. But I don’t think that will ever happen. I predict that a month from now, “Timmy” will be a distant memory.
• Second, ENT has a long history of fabricating blind items, and of posting sensational stories (i.e., the “milli vanilli” item) without reveals. At best, these stories are entirely false; at worse, ENT violated client confidentiality by posting them.
• Third, evidence is very strong that ENT simply cut and pasted this story from his readers' guesses. The “reveal” does not match the original blind item at all. There are glaring inconsistencies between the story (a male actor assumed a female persona and won an Oscar), and the answer (a man stood in for a few scenes of an Oscar-winning performance by a famous actress). There are many other inconsistencies that are too numerous to list. Also, every detail of this elaborate, wacky scenario was guessed in the comments of the blog before it was revealed. It looks like ENT simply read all the comments on his site, chose the “explanation” that sounded best, and pasted it as the answer.
• Finally, if we were to incorporate every internet and blog rumor about every celebrity into Wikipedia, then all of Wikipedia would be a joke. Posting this rumor would be every bit as stupid and slanderous as posting the “gerbil” rumor on Richard Gere’s page, IMO.

While I personally do not disbelieve that this woman may have had a male stand in for much of her Oscar winning performance, the glaring inconsistancies in the story we were presented, versus the actual story, are too much. There are no real, credible sources for this story, and therefore does not deserve a place on this wikipedia article. Thesetrixaintforkids 19:10, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
