Illogically worded Statement

The section titled Battle of Mount Kemmel opens with a sentence stating Reinforced by French units (who occupied the critical position of Mount Kemmel), the Germans continued their attacks on 17 April ... .

That makes absolutely no sense: why would the French reinforce an enemy who was about to attack them?

The reinforcing units must have been German, not French, and come from somewhere other than Mt. Kemmel, because this mountain did not change hands until April 25, 1918. Textor (talk) 22:44, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Historical Innacuracy

The German attack was able to smash through those Portuguese divisions and emergency British troops, the 1st battalion, King Edward's Horse and the 11th Cyclist Battalion. Although they captured some land, German forces were ultimately brought to a halt by Australian, French and British divisions. By April 29 Ludendorff ceased Georgette operations.

This sentence is a complete lie. Yes, the German assault was well succeeded, since they managed to break through the Portuguese lines. But it is my belief that it is a total disrespect for all Portuguese and Scottish troops that were abandoned (yes, they were abandoned indeed!) by English, Australian and French division in the fields of La Lys that fled from the battlefield as soon as they realized that they were outnumbered, thus leaving two Portuguese divisions and one Scottish division with their flanks exposed. When in this article says that "German forces were ultimately brought to a halt by Australian, French and British divisions", whoever wrote this, is revealing a huge lack of historical knowledge and respect. The cease of Georgette operations was due to the sacrifice of the Portuguese troops that were stationed on the frontline, just to serve as a massive human shield to the fleeding Scottish, French, British and Anzac troops.

Over-reliance?
