Transgender vs Transgendered

"The addition of -ed is extraneous and gramatically incorrect, only verbs can be transformed into a participle with -ed, and transgender is an adjective. Before reverting, please discuss on the talk..."

It's not an addition, -ed was the first form to exist. It is not grammatically incorrect in any way. Having the -ed suffix does not require the word to be a past participle. The grammatically correct version is transgendered. It is a direct correlation to the terms male gendered, female gendered, cis-gendered, etc. Gender is a noun, gendered is an adjective.

Further discussion, transgender is not the correct word for all forms of speech, especially as we have other options that are correct.:
Noun/Adjective(referring the person) Noun(referring to the gender) Adjective(referring to the gender)
male male gender male gendered
female female gender female gendered
trans trans gender(with or without space) transgendered
