Demographic history: weird and unexplained

Taken at face value, the info doesn't make sense:

1596: all Muslims.
1875, Guérin: ca. 200, all Druze; recent large dislocation.
1881, SWP: 300 Muslims and 100 Druze.
1887 (ca.), Schumacher: about 1,215; all Druze.
1922, Mandate: 895 of 902 were Druze.

What's happening here? Constant large or total exchange of population? (See also very large, but not complete flight from Turkish army conscription before 1875). Some surveys less accurate than others? Also massive fluctuation in numbers, up and down. Very interesting when put into perspective, not at all addressed, just a pile of various data easily skipped by users. Arminden (talk) 20:14, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"Beitegen" instead of Beit Jann

Why is the article named "Beitegen" instead of the Arabic (and official Israeli/Hebrew name) Beit Jann? Did someone think that the Crusaders are still around? Absolutely no-one (except professors of Crusader history) has heard of "Beitegen"! Monosig (talk) 19:26, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
