This article is primarily about the firm and its exploitation of the separate condenser. The engines would have worked with less well machined cylinders, but much less well, just as Newcomen engines did. We have articles on James Watt, Watt steam engine, History of the steam engine, John Wilkinson (industrialist), etc. We need to avoid unnecessary duplication of articles. Added section for preserved operational engines for which I believe I have located all examples. This would be a greater challenge for preserved static exhibits, since extent of preservation and completeness would also become pertinent. http://himedo.net/TheHopkinThomasProject/TimeLine/Wales/Steam/JamesWatt/Kelly/Watt.htm contains a great deal of pertinent information but is copyrighted. Being inexperienced as a contributor I'm not aware of best practice for making use of it, so adding only as an external reference.

It would be nice if there was more information on the fate of the company. Apparently it could do no wrong towards the end of the 1700s, but the Watt steam engine patent expired in 1800 so I assume the company will have had to diversify. It survived another 95 years so I guess there's an interesting story to tell there, but the article is lacking. RevenDS (talk) 10:01, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
