Pronunciation?
How does Lapham actually pronounce his own name? /lap-ham/ or /la-fam/?
- This genealogy site gives the origin as "Old English personal name Loppa + ham ‘homestead’"; I don't know anyone by that name so I can't say for sure, but the etymology suggests /lap-ham/. An OE-derived name wouldn't have the /ph/=/f/ thing. --HKMarksTALKCONTRIBS 17:39, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
This question was asked in one of the issues of Stray Bullets (issue seven possibly?) and the answer was 'Laff-um', as I remember.--75.80.66.159 02:49, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Press Release
Is it really -allowed- to have that much of a press release in the article? Heck, half the danged thing isn't even -about- Lapham. Lots42 21:03, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
